Julita Manor is an Open Air-museum by lake Oljaren in the heart of Sodermanland County. Julita Manor tell of Sweden’s agricultural and horticultural history. They include pieces from Nordiska museet agricultural collection, one of the foremost in the world. It comprises about 2200 hectares of land about 360 buildings and a well-preserved manor complex dated back to 1900. Julita farm's great value is in the sum of all parts because so much is preserved. Here you will find stables and caravans, kuskbostad and gardeners, dairy, brickworks, fire station, mill, saw and brick ladder. There are torp udgårdar, statarbostäder and luffarstuga but also mansion kitchens, farm offices and the entire large house preserved. Most famous is Julita farm perhaps for the beautiful gardens with collections of historically valuable plants - for example, about 250 apple trees of more than 100 varieties.
Hidden gem: you can book a night in one of Julita´s charming rooms in the manor wings from the 17th century.

Have you heard about the Campagne Island? In the northern archipelago of the Åland Islands there is an unique resort scattered out on four islands - Silverskär, Sviskär, Klobben and the small Champagne island. In July 2010, divers found a shipwreck containing the world's oldest drinkable champagne nearby Silverskär. 168 bottles were salvaged from the wreck, a large quantity of them from the famous Champagne house V***e Clicquot, which let establish a small guard cottage on a tiny skerry. The reason? Thanks to the fact that the bottles had been resting in a contstant temperature in the dark at the bottom of the sea, their content was still in perfect condition and several champagne connoisseurs that tasted it where astonished! This gave the team at Silverskär the idea to start storing their own champagne under water in 2011 and since 2014 they are storing champagne in the waters around the island in collaboration with V***e Clicquot. The project is called ”Cellar in the sea” and will proceed for 40 years. The champagne is stored a around 50 meters of depth, where the temperature stays at 4 degrees all around the year. The Vasa Museum houses Vasa, the only preserved 17th century ship in the world. She capsized and sank in Stockholm in 1628. After 333 years on the seabed, the warship was salvaged in 1961. 98% original and richly adorned with hundreds of wooden sculptures. Mäster Mikaels gata is located on eastern Södermalm. It stretches from Katarina church to Cornelisparken.
In connection with the Katarina fire in 1723, all the houses in the vicinity of this street were destroyed. Despite the subsequent ban on the construction of wooden houses, the houses that line Mäster Mikaels gata were built of wood. They were completed in 1729.
