ABOUT US
When my mother, Christina, started Kilgren at 1993, she started out with a teeny weeny shop here in Stockholm’s charming Old Town, mostly filled with knifes and handicraft of the highest quality. Then, a few years ago in a store bigger than the one she launched in, she decided to retire after several successful years… Previous to this I had been working by my mothers side for numerous yea
rs, running the company together but not as much I, as it was she. At 2007, Christina handed over the company to me, her daughter Kiina Kilgren, and I became in charge of the business. Even though I run Kilgren by myself, my father still has his part in a corner of the company. So today you can truly call us a family business, with the second-generation owner, fulfilling the concept since 1993. Sometimes you can find all three Kilgren generations at the store! Ohh yes… Christina still likes to come in and work extra hours every now and then. I also tend to bring my daughter Celina with me, only 14 years old, soon to be 15 (very important to mention), to help around in the store. Occasionally, my four-year-old son Marlon will assist his mother by the desk and don’t be afraid if he pops out between the hangers, as he loves to play hide-and-seek at every opportunity he gets. These days you will find a large collection of knitted Nordic design from brands such as “Dale of Norway”, “66°North”, “Devold” as well as, when I find the inspiration in life, my own designs with dresses, sweaters, socks, mittens and hats under the brand “Kiina Kilgren”. We also offer Lappish handicraft, hand painted clogs, beak boots, dalahorses etc. It’s very important for us to work with high quality manufacturers and originals! The Kilgren shop is located in the Old Town, the heart of Stockholm’s city, in a house from the 16th Century. Here you will meet my lovely staff, which at the moment consists of Paula, Bella and Sofia.
