On these pictures we were out on a afternoon hike again. In total we only hiked 1,5 hours and made 5 kilometers. The landscape of the Oviksfjällen was fascinating with the autumn colors everywhere!

Sometimes it feels not easy to break up with daily patterns. Summer season is almost over for this year and you can see autumn colours everywhere in the mountains now. Indian summer will soon be over,too.

Our cottages are equipped for self-catering with full kitchen equipment, cosy sleeping rooms and a charming fireplace.
This is Arådalens nature reserve from another point of view. The Arån river had shaped a canyon through thousands of years in the southern part of the reserve. On the sandy ground hundreds of old pine trees are spread all over. These pine trees might be 250-450 years old.
We crossed the river at two sections to reach back to our car.
Clear sky last night made it possible to see the first northern lights over Jämtland and Galå Fjällgård! These pictures were captured at 23:30. The sky was still not totally dark but the aurora borealis was strong enough to spot them more south. Really something magical!
Summer days and happy campers! Quite a lot campingcars arrived the last week. As we offer a limited number of only 7 pitches, these were filled up easily on many days. We feel happy about many beautiful moments with our guests.

After a longer period of grey weather we are looking forward now. More sun will be following with us on the upcoming weekend.
I Oviksfjällen går renen fritt och särskilt på sommaren möter man några stycken nästan dagligen.
Det finns även en flyttled bakom vårt hus som renen följer över myren.
Jag brukar även besöka renskiljning på hösten i Glen och titta lite på de fina djuren. Där är bilderna tagna.
Det får läggas märke på att dessa djur inte finns på kontinenten. Jag får ofta många frågor från mina gäster om renskötseln och djuren. När jag försöker besvara deras frågor upplever jag alltid att de är mycket tacksamma för upplysningen.
Så roligt är det när man får höra deras berättelser om när de såg renar ute på vandringar.

After as busy day we sometimes take a short break at our river Galån. The water is really refreshing but maybe not the first choice for people who prefer warm water! 😜

Let's show you some evening impressions of our loghomes just before the arrival of the guests in two of them. In Sweden any small houses is also called "stuga" 😀
We have two sizes of holiday homes: stuga "Ull" and "Balder" (blue windows) have 50sqm. Stuga "Tor" and "Freja" (red windows) have 70 sqm andceven own sauna inside.
Each cottages is fully equipped with kitchen, bathroom and fireplace.
Dogs are welcome in two of our cottages of course.

Our holiday rental "Härbre" is preferred by travellers staying overnight only or couple of days.
Nevertheless it has a very cozy interior. Sitting in front of the charming fireplace on colder days is quite relaxing. The window in the sleeping room faces directly to the surrounding forest trees.
It is equipped with fridge, microwave, coffee maker and electric kettle bug has no water installation.
Guests will have access to our service facility building with toilets and shower.
The first flower of this summer season has appeared in our garden and it is still May! Nature explodes these days with neverending daylight.

Everywhere you can see sign of nature waking up. The birches are getting green earlier this year and also other plants in the garden are already visible. Let's see when we can cut the grass for the first time! 😀
We are preparing for the upcoming summer season: cleaning, repairs and some new things too.
Nature awakes in our Swedish region Jämtland! After months of cold and snow we can't wait to see green and flowers.
This period of the year usually feels very dynamic as everything develops so quickly.
It is five weeks until midsummer and already now we have no real dark nights any more.

Easter holiday starts today and we have some new guests arriving this evening. They have booked cottage "Ull" for a family with two children and a husky dog. As usual we have started fire in the cottage to welcome our guests with a comfortable temperature in the holiday house.
We went out on this tour with backcountry skis to Nybodarna. It is about 6,2 km one-way and we had really nice spring sun at the beginning. Note the melting snow drops! Sun is getting warmer again.
🇩🇪 Wir waren mit Backcountry Skiern zur Alm Nybodarna unterwegs. Eine tolle Tour im ungespurtem Gelände mit beginnender Frühlingssonne. Einfache Wegstrecke ist circa 6,2 km.
Easter holidays are coming soon and there is still possibility for you to book one of our cottages for some recreation in the mountains. No doubt we still will have snow. But this also can be the best sunny time at the end if winter season. We hope for good snow conditions for skiing in the mountains.
Wintercamping is also possible at our lodge Galå Fjällgård. Campers have full access to our service facility and start outdoor activities like snowshouing or cross-country skiing directly from the campsite. Please make a reservation of camping pitch in advance. We offer rental of snowshoes and cross-country skiing equipment.

Magnificent mood at sunset over the mountains. We were out with some friends on snow mobiles and drove towards the mountains. In total a trip of 35 km or 3,5 (swedish) miles 😜.
To take a cup of hot beverage after half of the tour was really fantastic as temperatures was on the way down again.

Millions of stars in the sky over Galå Fjällgård! We got really cold this night as temperature dropped down to -31 °C.
We were even lucky to capture one of the falling stars which were quite frequent tonight.
Backcountry-skiing in perfect snow conditions. Here we are outside after christmas and skiing over soft powder snow, laying the first track towards the landmark Valskaftet.

This sunny day in Oviksfjällen was perfect for a 12 km hike in the mountains. There was still some snow left on the fold side. It was clear sky the whole day and only sun. Quite hot even for the dog. He usually does not jump into water! After a week or two we usually need to say "goodby" to our guests and are cleaning and preparing the cottage for new guests. Sometime they arrive late in the evening due to the long way to travel to Jämtland. No problem for us. We will keep your cottage heated and prepared for you! 🇩🇪 Oft bleiben unsere Gäste 1-2 Wochen.
