Good memories of a fun week in January with a great group at Las Buitreras. Spots like Little Corner and the upper part of La Recta always are big hotspots but in that period they were a fish guarantee!

Those moments before the start of a fishing session at Las Buitreras are spent in very different ways by each of our guests. From a quick nap, serious talks about flies and tactics, big laughs, preparing the camera for some action and talks about how to finally get the big 30 pounder that got away the day before 😁….its the best time as we all wait for it a year long to be in exact that moment. You gotta love it!

These crystal clear rivers in Greenland 🇬🇱 always remind us of how a healthy fish population looks like. At Two River Valley you can chase them in any way you want, if it is with a skated dry fly or swinging streamers.
Fishing a sunray shadow or similar for seatrout is probably one of the most exciting things in fly fishing. If you arrive at a pool on one of the Las Buitreras beats during magic hour, just when the sun is starting to disappear behind the horizon, you get that extra tickle in your hands and there is a certain tension in your body while tying your fly on. Everyone imagines how a big bow wave appears behind your fly or how you suddenly see an explosion on the water surface. This keeps us going until the light is almost gone completely, even when the casting is not getting worse step by step😁. Once you experience how these fish rip the line out of your hand, it’s over, there is no cure (luckily) 🙌!

Some very pretty colours on this fish from Rick, landed in pool 38. Swinging a fly in the upper part can be a lot of fun! Both coloured seatrout and resident brown trout often look like a piece of art 🖼️.

Sea-run arctic char can be anything from bright silver to orange/red 🔥 depending on when they entered the river. At our new program “Two River Valley“ we will have three different options to chase them, if it is going into two different rivers hunting them by walk and wade or going out on the ocean by boat to find them as fresh and strong as they can get!

Crystal clear water and the most beautiful scenery you can think of. Combined with a strong run of sea-run arctic char, Greenland 🇬🇱 is the perfect adventure for a fly angler! We can’t wait to show you more of our new operation “Two River Valley“.

Not long and we will be back to this place running our new operation BAT BAT Territories. So much more to explore and so many untouched places to see. This fish was caught in one of the deeper lagoons, came up behind the coral bommie to inhale our popper fly 🙌!

A black and angry GT from our scouting trip to BAT BAT Territories in Papua New Guinea. These guys were sitting under huge schools of baitfish pressed against the surface. We will be searching more of these from autumn 2024 onwards…with a new mothership!

The second week of April saw a group from Canada and the US. All of them were here for the first time so the arrival day was all about setting up the right tackle, discussing flies and lines, as well as giving them a good overview of what to expect during this week. The week itself was basically div...
In between casts you will say anything from condors, flamingos 🦩, foxes, etc. As Glencross is located close to the Andes mountains particular animals like the condor feel a lot more comfortable in these areas. Take the camera with you, it’s great to have some images to show at home.

Fishing sessions at Estancia Glencross are different every time, depending on the wind and water level you will fish either the tributaries Rubens and Penitente or the main Gallegos river. With higher water we had exceptional fishing in the tributaries at times for seatrout, fishing with a 6 or 7 wt single handed rod. Furthermore, we started doing full days on the river every now and then if the weather is nice and you can walk along the tributaries stalking brown trout rising and having lunch on the riverbank.

The lodge at Estancia Glencross is a beautiful and traditional house coming along with the nicest garden around it. A fireplace inside invites you to have a glass of wine in front of the fire after fishing. Your body immediately calms down once you arrive and for us it feels like coming home. The Estancia is one of the biggest working Estancias in the area and it is fascinating to check out how life is in such a remote place.

At Estancia Glencross you will experience traditional home cooked food which is part of a farm to table concept as the Estancia harvests and grows most things themselves, such as lettuce 🥬 , real Patagonian strawberries 🍓 , herbs 🌿, rhubarb, potatoes 🥔 , just to name a few and obviously local meat 🥩 !

Big fish week with 4 fish over 20 lbs! Perfect conditions and a lot of fresh fish in the river for our group at Las Buitreras during the first week of April.
This first week of April we welcomed a group of anglers from Sweden, Finland, Poland, and the United States. Several of our guests this week have been coming to Las Buitreras for many years and know this fishery well. Others were here to experience the southern Patagonian sea-run brown trout fishing...
At BAT BAT Territories it’s not only about GTs. You will find a huge list of fish swimming around in these waters, such as the sailfish. This one we hooked while changing spots with our mothership. A few days later we hooked up with a Black Marlin. You never know what you will get over there!

Scouting/Filming Expedition - Lappland/Sweden
Looking to get off the grid for a week this summer? We have two spots available in June for a week of fishing for Trout, Grayling and Pike in beautiful Lappland, northern Sweden. This is part of an exploratory trip with our team and we will be filming and photographing while fishing the endless number of streams and lakes in the area. Although this is off the grid we have no intentions to rough it out. We will stay in very comfortable tents, including a bigger lounge tent to hang out if the weather gets rough, and we will eat camping style gourmet food every day. We had good water levels early February with a few pushes from the mountains in between keeping the river at a stable level. Our lowest zone did produce some great fishing! John with a beauty.
A high river during March last season made us fish a little different. A fast sinking tip and a big fly was our choice for those few days. Marius did a good job fishing close to the bank and weed lines where the fish would hold and rest. This fresh one came out of lower La Recta!
Dave has been dreaming about this fish for a long time and he made it happen this year in April when he came down to visit us at Las Buitreras together with Tim. Yellow yummie and tea coloured water, deadly combination!
The Empanadas CrewLinas and Zach came up with the theory that you need to have enough Empanadas in your afternoon box for the river in order to have good fishing…well they landed 6 fish that evening, hard to argue with it especially if it is EMPANADAS ❤️! This fish was one of 4 they landed in Kitchen pool.
BAT BAT - Part 4 The F%#$ Edit 🇵🇬! Cursing is sometimes part of fishing, especially when you miss a fish…well, so we thought why not show most of these moments in our video. BAT BAT - Part 3 🇵🇬! This one is too good to cut in half. On our second day of scouting we bumped into a big GT in one of the lagoons. It inhaled the popper 5 meters away from us, coming up behind a coral bommie until it took off towards the open ocean…what a day and what a cool crew to share it with.
