Quick update from Las Buitreras! We started our season 2025 with very warm Patagonian summer days and now see cooler weather with some good wind today…last sessions have been working well. Stay tuned for more!

A few photos from last April at Las Buitreras. Fishing was unbelievable, great water levels and so many fresh fish. Fishing days are more compact with no long siestas as you want to fish those hours when the sun is up high. Therefore, you get back to the lodge earlier in the evening, still fishing the same amount of hours as you do from January to March. It’s not a big secret anymore that April is prime fishing time at Las Buitreras!

INTRODUCING TWO RIVER VALLEY 🇬🇱
We are excited about our new destination in Greenland - Two River Valley! Not only will it feature a brand new lodge which is just a short walk away from the first pool, it will also offer guests to fish two different rivers. On top of that we also added another nice (Targa) boat to our operation which will be used for getting to our second river as well as offering sea fishing targeting Arctic char and cod in one of the numerous bays or going for halibut and wolffish in the deep.

Photos were taken during our latest visit in September, it was beautiful!

It’s only 3 1/2 weeks until we will open the doors for our new season at Estancia Las Buitreras! A few more sleepless nights and we will be back in seatrout paradise.

The season at our brand new operation Two River Valley can’t come soon enough! Getting to Greenland will also be a lot easier now, especially for our North American friends. There will be direct flights from the US to Nuuk, plus the existing direct flight from Copenhagen for all Europeans.

It doesn’t happen very often but every now and then some guests hook up at the same time which is always a fun moment. Hearing the „Fish on!“ suddenly from both sides makes it an interesting situation for the guide! Michael and Peter did this two times and had a good laugh about it being back at the lodge. Definitely something to have a toast to in the evening 🍷.

You will probably see more wildlife than anywhere else fishing for a sea-run species, when visiting Las Buitreras. Most people are surprised that this harsh environment is home for so many animals during the Patagonian summer. Fishing with a wildlife safari on the side 🙂.

These crystal clear rivers in Greenland 🇬🇱 always remind us of how a healthy fish population looks like. At Two River Valley you can chase them in any way you want, if it is with a skated dry fly or swinging streamers.

These crystal clear rivers in Greenland always remind us of how a healthy fish population looks like. At Two River Valley you can chase in any way you want, if it is with a skated dry fly or swinging streamers.

We had good water levels early February with a few pushes from the mountains in between keeping the river at a stable level. Our lowest zone did produce some great fishing! John with a beauty.

A high river during March last season made us fish a little different. A fast sinking tip and a big fly was our choice for those few days. Marius did a good job fishing close to the bank and weed lines where the fish would hold and rest. This fresh one came out of lower La Recta!

Dave has been dreaming about this fish for a long time and he made it happen this year in April when he came down to visit us at Las Buitreras together with Tim. Yellow yummie and tea coloured water, deadly combination!

The Empanadas CrewLinas and Zach came up with the theory that you need to have enough Empanadas in your afternoon box for the river in order to have good fishing…well they landed 6 fish that evening, hard to argue with it especially if it is EMPANADAS ❤️! This fish was one of 4 they landed in Kitchen pool.

BAT BAT - Part 4 The F%#$ Edit 🇵🇬! Cursing is sometimes part of fishing, especially when you miss a fish…well, so we thought why not show most of these moments in our video. BAT BAT - Part 3 🇵🇬! This one is too good to cut in half. On our second day of scouting we bumped into a big GT in one of the lagoons. It inhaled the popper 5 meters away from us, coming up behind a coral bommie until it took off towards the open ocean…what a day and what a cool crew to share it with.

BAT BAT - Part 2 🇵🇬! Hooking a GT is just different, wether it is on fly or spinning gear. Our different anchorage points are as beautiful as they can get and are the perfect place for an after-fishing drink. Welcome to paradise. Part 3 follows tomorrow. Full video on our YouTube channel!
