Teacher Seet Fun went to the Victoria and Albert museum, saw the exhibition on Beatrix Potter. She was a famous author. Have you read her books before? Hint: Peter Rabbit.
Do you know she was very good at painting, was an expert about mushrooms and was an activist in protecting nature. Shall we pick up our sketchbooks and head to the botanical garden?

Well, teacher Seet Fun’s favorite section got to be this section. The birds are beautiful.

Artists and scientists have been been inspired by the natural world for centuries. Artist Henri Rousseau was a frequent visitor to the zoo, botanical garden and natural history museums to study the plants and animals. That is where he get inspiration and ideas for his art.

We also have Natural History museum in Singapore, Lee Kong Chian Natural History Museum. Grab your sketch book, head there and sketch your observations.

This is Dippy. Dippy is a Diplodocus and belongs to a group of dinosaurs known as Sauropods, meaning ‘lizard feet’. All sauropods have a very very long neck, very small head, a body shaped like a barrel, legs like pillars and a long slender tail. Do you know any other sauropods?

Who is Dippy? Will be sharing a little bit more about Dippy soon. Stay tuned.

Consolidating and sharing my experiences at the museum is harder than I thought. Truly admire those who do vlogs or travel blogs. I will try anyway.

Decided to start with Natural History Museum. To my surprise, it was not the bones of the dinosaurs that caught my attention. Take a look at the building!

We are bringing Art Loft’s little artists back to the Singapore Art Museum after 2 years, this time a little further away to their new home at Tanjong Pagar Distripark! The kids love it as they get to create paper art pieces, cut paper and draw on them on the spot. ✂️ 📝

“Superfluous Things: Paper highlights the work of contemporary artists as storytellers, evoking precious personal and cultural memories, through a long tradition of paper manipulation. The works astound through the transformations of pieces of paper into objects of visual feast and irresistible emotional resonance.”

We are very happy to collaborate with The Learning Connections and Beanstalk Singapore (ECDA) to create our 4th edition of Creative Conversations: Shaping our Future kit!

The premise is of a young girl who travelled back in time with her archaeologist uncle to meet Singapore’s early settlers. Through role-playing and dramatisation, children are able connect emotionally by putting themselves in the shoes of the characters. The activities within the kit aims to raise children's self-awareness and empathy by developing a better understanding of the world around them. Most importantly, a respect for diversity.

You can download your free resource kit here: https://www.ecda.gov.sg/growatbeanstalk/Pages/Learning/Resource%20Kits/Creative-Conversations-Shaping-our-Future.aspx
