Advance Dental started in the home of our founder as a small one-man facility specializing in hand-sculpted crowns and bridges. In 1987, we turned full scale and have been in the industry for 30 years. As one of the pioneers to venture into implants and full ceramic restorations, we pride ourselves in

our experience with these options and have excellent long-term partnerships with dentist, customizing to every dentist's specific needs. In 2009, our CAD/CAM unit was born and we have a variety of milling facilities, 3D printing services as well as full digital workflow for intra-oral scanners.

Many dentists come to us with patients who have great concern about the realism in matching their tooth shades. As much as all dentists and labs would like to provide shade matching to the best of our abilities, we often have to let patients know about managing expectations.

If you are struggling to take shades on your own, this video is very insightful.

Some tips that you will need to know
1. use a retractor at all times (see the video example)
2. never ever take a photo with the clinical light shining into your patient's mouth, your shade will look yellow/green/blue
3. always put the patient's chair back up, 45 degrees is the best
4. always take the stump shade and the adjacent tooth shade with the shade tab held directly next to it. make sure the number on your shade tab is clearly visible
