Going through YachtStyle’s latest AsiaPac 100 largest yachts, I cannot help but remembering that when with APB and the Superyacht Singapore Association we started putting together the list of the largest Superyachts in the region, we basically had to draw a list of only 30 yachts (that were true superyachts). 10-12 years on, a 40 meters that was easily making it in the top-30 list can no longer make it in the top 100. Actually it cannot even make it in the top 175 (yes, we keep track). This is how much the market has grown. It is reasonable to think Asia’s superyacht population will double in the next 10 years or so, not because we are bullish about the industry per se, but simply because 15 years ago we started from such a low base. Of course, growth is conditional of key factors besides economic stability but at the centre of it all infrastructure is primordial.

Southeast Asia is particularly tough on paint and clear coats. GRP (especially the latest substrates) are surprisingly poor in UV-resistance. That poses new daily maintenance challenges.

It has been a pleasure to have her under our management for 2 years in Singapore in collaboration with Tam Son Yachting Vietnam.

Indeed, Tam Son Yachting has mission to bring the perfect European Yachting Experience to Vietnam. It was therefore a perfect match with Asia Superyacht Development who is the Singapore based specialist for Yacht Management and after sales service for Southeast Asia.
