Edwin Lim has been a volunteer guide/conservationist with the Singapore Zoo for over 20 years and as a volunteer guide with the Singapore's National Parks Board for over 15 years. I enjoy sharing information with people and that has led me to become a Singapore Tourism Board-licensed tourist guide 15 years ago. Most of my clients come from the US, but I also have had tourists from India, the UK, Germany, Poland, Australia, Vietnam, the Philippines, Indonesia, Malaysia and Thailand. Conducted the 7th run of my 7hr workshop on "Sustainable Tourism - Preparing for the Future of Tourism". 13 licensed Singapore tourist guides attended the training workshop which is an approved Singapore Tourism Board programme and is largely funded by SkillsFuture subsidies.

Good Day, Mate!

With Molly and her great grandparents after a 7hr World War II Battlefield tour of Singapore. Hailing from Australia, Molly signed up this tour as a gift for her great grandparents. Her great great grandfather and great great grand uncles were all in the Australian military during World War II.

Her great grandpa shared about how his dad and uncles were in the airforce, navy and army and how his dad despite being only 16 years old, managed to deceive the military recruitment and became a pilot in the RAAF. One of his uncles unfortunately perished as a POW while building the Thai-Burma "Death Railway" while another did not make it home while as a POW under the Germans.

We all had a great time through the tour, sharing interestings facts, stories and family experiences.

Kenneth (with moustache) and his wife, with their four friends from the US and Canada, hired me to be their tour guide for a night tour and a full day tour of Singapore recently.

They got off a long cruise around Asia and were looking for a guide to create a great finale to their cruise holiday in Singapore. And they were not disappointed, judging from the happy faces from this photo, taken after the tour, and a gift of a bottle of red wine from one couple.

A Swedish Christmas theme at the Flower Dome at Gardens by the Bay! Watch out for the moose!

Lien and family from LA found me on Facebook and got me to guide her family recently during their long stopover in Singapore en route to Thailand. I met them at the airport with the driver for a 7hr Singapore city tour and with the tour ending back at the airport

A big thank you to Frederick for his review of a 7hr World War II Battlefield tour of Singapore that I conducted for him recently.🙂

Through the past 18 years, I have had tour clients who come from all walks of life but Fred's background is probably one of the most interesting. A Vietnam War veteran, former US Navy submarine captain and retired NASA director, Fred and I spent hours exchanging insights into the Second World War, our common pet topic. Both of us have visited various battlefield sites extensively around the world.
