The cabinet aimed at drawing a million qualified and wealthy foreigners and highly qualified professionals to assist in reviving the economy following the collapse of Covid-19.

The benefit includes a ten-year Thai visa for authorized special visitors, as well as their spouses and children. Additionally, the package includes automatic work permits, the same income tax rates as Thai nationals, and property and land ownership.

For this long-term visa scheme, the government has 4 target groups

Wealthy global citizens:
Invest at least US$500,000 in Thai government bonds or real estate through foreign direct investment (FDI). Requires a minimum annual income of US$80,000 for the preceding two years, as well as a minimum asset worth of US$1 million and hold minimum health insurance coverage of US$100,000.

Wealthy pensioners:
At least 50 years old, required to invest at least US $250,000 in Thai government bonds or real estate through foreign direct investment (FDI), a minimum annual income of US $40,000, and hold health insurance coverage of at least US $100,000.

Work from Thailand professionals:
Digital nomads who have sufficient pensions to cover their costs of living in Thailand and near-retirees from large organizations are expected.

Highly skilled professionals:
Wishes to come to Thailand to work as experts in the government's target industries, must have a minimum of five years of work experience, earn at least US$40,000 per year, and hold health insurance coverage of at least US $100,000.

Thailand reduces quarantine period for international arrivals from 1 October 2021.

The country's Covid-19 situation was improving, as new infections and deaths decreased as a result of improved patient care.

Dr Opas Karnkawinpong, director-general of the Department of Disease Control, said quarantine would be shortened to seven or ten days on a case-by-case basis. Visitors who have who have been fully vaccinated with a vaccine approved by Thailand’s Ministry of Public Health (MoPH) or the World Health Organisation (WHO) will be quarantined for seven days and tested for Covid-19 using the RT-PCR method upon arrival and again on day seven, he explained.

Visitors who are not vaccinated will be quarantined for ten days. They will undergo two RT-PCR tests, first upon arrival and another before finishing the quarantine. Visitors in this category must arrive by plane only.

For people traveling by land who are not fully vaccinated, the 14-day quarantine will remain in effect. Dr Opas added that they would be subjected to two rounds of RT-PCR testing.

The proposed measures would apply to all visitors. The Phuket Sandbox reopening initiative revealed that local illnesses, not visitors, caused an outbreak, he claimed.

Being able to quickly adapt to market changes has put Sansiri in a strong position to give back to society and lend a helping hand to those in need.

During the COVID-19 pandemic, Sansiri reported the highest revenue in the real-estate market, with a historic number of transfers completed in the past year. Sales and transfers for the current year are also higher than Sansiri’s half-year target, with secured revenue in the first seven months already exceeding 83 percent of the company’s target for the entire year.

Sansiri announced the adjustment of the sales target from 26,000 million baht to 31,000 million baht and the transfer target from 27,000 million baht to 31,000 million baht following the latest sales figure of 12,500 million baht and the total transfers worth 8,100 million baht which are considered to be an excellent performance for the first four months of the year.

A total of seven new projects worth a total of about 4,300 million baht are set for launches in Q2/2021 with the readiness to respond to any situation. The plan is to launch condominiums in 2021 after a study showed ready-to-move-in condominium projects fulfil the “New Normal” trend with affordable prices on suitable locations with good potential.
