We often think about Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) as something only large, established corporations can afford. Startups, especially new ones, generally have far more burning priorities.

Today, we are proud to announce our first donation to Breast Cancer Foundation.

While this is a small donation, we believe this is a first step towards something bigger in the future, and to create a positive culture of paying forward in the startup community.

At SourceSage, we believe that any change can be initiated at any level internally and to any clients we engage. By walking the "talk", we are committed not only to our employees internally but also to our clients and partners to continuously improve our product, process and service.

Mr Jian Min Sim, CEO of SourceSage added that "Any Startup can start paying forward - you don't have to amass huge profits before making a significant difference. SourceSage has been in a fortunate position to receive help from investors, mentors and even from our own employees. To truly understand and embrace the vision to reinvent B2B procurement and to initiate change in a traditional industry, we have to first start from ourselves, and to encourage other startups like us to do the same. I believe startups are change agents, and we must continuously add value not only to our clients and employees, but also to the society at large."

Pyra Sukawat, Founder of Karmax (www.karmax.co) and Kairos Fellow Class of 2017, was recently selected to participate in Alibaba Business School’s eFounders Fellowship from 26 March to 4 April 2018. She is an aspiring young entrepreneur and a music producer who founded Rehour and Karmax – an online retail platform for merchandised products from top artists for social causes.

In this trip, she met Jack Ma, co-founder and executive chairman of Alibaba Group and asked how he navigates happiness in the world of entrepreneurship.

“Most people tend to think that a person like Jack would be happy knowing that he can afford to have everything he wants. Jack admitted that it’s really difficult to be happy when being up there can be lonely. He also shared that the thing which keeps him happy is good relationships with friends and families.”

The eFounders Fellowship is a two-week course for entrepreneurs in developing countries who are operating open, platform-based businesses in the ecommerce, logistics, big data, and tourism spaces. The program will provide first-hand exposure to and learning about ecommerce innovations from China and around the world that enabled growth and a more inclusive development model for all.
