The Consulate-General of the Sultanate of Oman opened its office in Singapore in May 2011 as a desire to foster and strengthen the already extensive bilateral relationship between the two friendly countries and their diplomatic ties that have been formalized since 1985. Alongside undertaking standard consular responsibilities the Consulate General also embarks on enhancing the relationship betwee
n Oman and Singapore in respect to Tourism and Trade cementing the existing mutual ties and exploring new avenues of cooperation. As an indication of these meaningful ties, there has been a steady flow of high-level visits between both sides. Indeed, numerous memorandums of understanding and agreements have been signed covering many different areas of cooperation. The Consulate General takes every opportunity to promote the beauty and richness of Oman’s culture and heritage as well as its attractiveness as an investment and tourism destination; this has been made possible through participation in exhibitions and festivals in Singapore as well as hosting Investment Forums and cultural events.
