KJD Bol - Kitesurfing weekly report (20.6. - 28.6.2020)
Last week (June 20 - June 28, 2020), a total of about 250 guests, families and other lovers of Brac - who were in some way or the other associated with kitesurfing - came to Bol. All of them were accommodated in Blue Sun hotels, Hotel Bretanide, and also in private accommodation and camps. The fact that Bol, on June 28, 2020, recorded about 800 guests, tells us that 30% of guests came because of kitesurfing at the Zlatni Rat, which we, as the organizers and partners are very proud of.
Here are a few points we would like to share with you:
- Due to the limited number of places to start, a transparent online system has been developed, through which kitesurfers can book and easily pay the entry fee via IBAN or credit card / Paypal, even a few weeks in advance. Vouchers have also been created, which can be used in the event that there is no wind. All donations can be seen anonymously through the system, each through its own code.
- Half of the entry fee will be donated to charity, “Bracke Pupoljke”, for which KJD - Bol in cooperation with Big Blue Sport d.o.o. has been a sponsor for years. We would like to thank our partner Kitelife for the donation and effort.
- Big Blue Sport and Kitelife provided 3 of their workers and a lifeboat for this purpose. From last week, HRK 5,668.00 will be donated to “Brač buds” (attached tables: https://inoffice.box.com/v/donations-report)
- There were no incidents on the beach, everything went well, the kiters kept to the marked area of 30 m on the Zlatni rat. Even in high season this part of the beach is deserted and unattractive to tourists and others due to strong winds.
- The rules of the swimming zone were respected and there was enough space for everyone. Compared to previous years, when kiters would come from all directions and did not respect the rules, this system has proved to be efficient and organized. We have people on the beach patrolling and giving instructions and therefore keeping order on the beach; minimalizing the risks. Another positive outcome of this system was that all charterers, who wanted to anchor in the wild, were warned on our part and directed to the permitted anchorage zone.
