International Full Time Master Programme in Business (IMB) is a unique special, in words of many, elite programme, aimed at students with or without previous working experiences with a respectful tradition. The IMB Programme provides students to gain a unique preparation for the business world by being in touch with international field experts from academic and business world, engaging them in rea

l-life projects, stimulates the case study and team-work learning approach and help them gain the capabilities, knowledge and attitudes that are necessary to succeed in today’s fiercely competitive business world, where only excellence enables long-term survival. It is once in a life-time experience of studying and socializing with international students who have different educational and cultural backgrounds. The diversity of students enables a unique group dynamic, which is reflected in a valuable and enjoying IMB studying experience, but probably the best proof for that can be found in previous students’ testimonials. Why many perspective students decide to attend the IMB Programme is the opportunity to gain vast social capital. The generation of it is systemized in Alumni MBA Radovljica association, which networks current students and graduates of the programme, who are now successful in business, occupying top positions in international companies. IMB premises are located at the School of Economics and Business, University of Ljubljana (SEBLU) and are exclusively accessible to IMB students and personnel. In such a fashion students are provided privacy, safety and opportunity to finish their faculty-related work in the comfort of premises. IMB students have been to Japan, Florida, the Russian Federation, the U.K. and many other countries so far. What’s next to come? At the beginning of the second year, students work on the final project, which is presented at one of the most prestigious business conferences in Slovenia, Portorož Annual Business Conference. Afterwards, students finish their master thesis. Some students decide to exploit one of the IMB-exclusive international exchange programmes and expand their knowledge horizons aboard. The 90% of the students get a job within the first 3 months after graduating the IMB programme and there are various IMB-exclusive job posts available to students due to good reputation of being hard working, innovative and highly competent that gradates of the IMB programme have in Slovenia and aboard. Please feel free to contact us for more information. We will be happy to assist you and hopefully welcome you in the IMB community. It is an intense programme, but at the end of the day, students often say it has been gone to quickly and miss the IMB student life style. So, are you ready for a rollercoaster ride to success?

🌟 Exciting Update from Our IMB Marketing Module! 🌟

Our IMB students Ilina Maksimovska, Andjelina Arsenijevic, Nađa Roganović, Anže Ambrožič and Enea Prelaz recently had the opportunity to present their solutions to Novartis Slovenia. They tackled the challenge of positioning Novartis as an innovative medicine company and a potential future employer to the young population in Slovenia. 💡💼

Over one month, students worked diligently on this project, which was part of two courses: Digital Marketing and Social Media (led by Professor Vatroslav Skare) and Consumer Behaviour (led by Professor Mateja Kos Koklic with help from Professor Jasmina Dlacic). This real-life project provided hands-on experience and allowed the students to apply their skills and creativity in a professional setting. They enjoyed the process and gained valuable insights into the industry.

A huge thank you to Novartis Slovenia for this amazing collaboration and for providing our students with such a meaningful and impactful experience. We look forward to more opportunities like this that bridge the gap between academia and the business world! 🌐🤝

Sometimes you need several mentors in your life. Some you may adore because of their success, and they inspire you. Some give you wisdom and ethics and others give you character. Therefore, having a mentor is a big plus, because they help you grow. 💡

Those were the words Dr. Mark Plesko, CEO of Cosylab shared with us at the Mentorship Programme event where he had a chat with Ada Guštin Habuš, PhD and shared some invaluable insights on entrepreneurship, innovation, and work-life balance.

Key Takeaways:

🗣️ Entrepreneurial Drive: Dr. Pleško described himself as "very passionate," believing that true entrepreneurs are driven by a powerful need to bring their ideas to life.

👩‍💻 Balancing Life and Work: He challenged the idea of work-life balance, suggesting instead that work and personal life should blend together. For him, success means living an interesting and fulfilling life, balancing work with family responsibilities.

💡 Defining Success: Dr. Pleško compared success to leveling up in a game – always aiming for the next challenge, never completely satisfied, and constantly pushing to improve. Dr. Pleško's journey from academia to leading a groundbreaking tech company is a testament to his vision and determination. His story inspires us to pursue our passions relentlessly and embrace both the successes and challenges along the way.

A big thank you to Dr. Pleško for sharing his wisdom and experiences with us and to the IMB Alumni for organising the event.

Exciting insights from the 25th Portorož Business Conference! 🌐 On November 14th and 15th, 2023, the regional management community gathered at the Grand Hotel Bernardin for thought-provoking discussions on the nexus of artificial intelligence, human creativity, and business sustainability.

This time, the 30th Generation of IMB students impressed the audience with their presentation on the stage of the most prestigious event for the business community, unveiling their ground-breaking research conducted in August and September 2023. The result? A compelling exploration of AI's evolving role in the workplace, is encapsulated in the book "Beyond Bits and Algorithms: Redefining Businesses and Future of Work," edited by Polona Domadenik Muren, Tjaša Redek, and Matjaž Koman.

Žiga Zalar, Hana Murovec, Khalid Osmanov, and Ekaterina Kuznetsova led the presentation, showcasing the collaborative efforts of 45 IMB students and their SEBLU mentors: Andreja Cirman, Barbara Čater, Tomaž Čater, Polona Domadenik Muren, Daša Farčnik, Aleš Gorišek, Tanja Istenič, Matjaž Koman, Hana Končan, Mateja Kos Koklič, Mitja Kovač, Eva Marčič, Denis Marinšek, Rok Požun, Mauro Pregarc, Tjaša Redek, Nada Zupan, and Vesna Žabkar.

Here are some insights:
💡 Delving into the Slovenian business landscape, the research unveils that just over 11% of companies leverage AI, with significant adoption spikes in large enterprises, particularly in the ICT sector (40%), professional activities (25%), and manufacturing and retail trade (20%).
🤖 AI applications span security, manufacturing, and marketing, shaping the employment landscape. Interestingly, Slovenian workers express concern about AI's impact on wages but remain optimistic about job security in the next two years. They also believe their skills will continue to be valued, debunking fears of AI devaluation.
🔍 A pivotal moment in the AI landscape, the introduction of OpenAI solutions, including ChatGPT in November 2022, triggered widespread adoption, making AI accessible to the average consumer. These insights represent just a fraction of the comprehensive research findings.

Special appreciation goes to the dedicated mentors and contributing companies for making this exploration of AI's impact a reality. 🙌

What an amazing week with the 30th Generation we spent in the Czech Republic.

Nowadays one of the most well-known Czech industries is the automotive industry. We visited production facilities in Škoda Auto in Mlada Boleslav. High automation and robotization with skilled workforce make them the 2nd most profitable subsidiary in VW group.

On Wednesday, we had a great opportunity to visit the Slovene Embassy In Prague. We were hosted by Ambassador Tanja Strniša where we discussed how to do business in Czechia. It was great to be joined by Nataša Vacek Novak, Regional Director at Trimo Prague, Jan Gala, Director at Krka ČR, s.r.o., and Michal Kura from the Slovenia Centre Prague. Slovenia as a small country is very dependent on exports and the most ambitious firms that sell on global markets are our inspirations.

Many thanks to all our friends in the Czech Republic who made our trip unique.

In the next two weeks they will visit many Slovene companies, dig into data on the labor market and test public sentiments. The results will be preliminary presented at Business Conference in November. Stay tuned!

At this point we would like to thank Mr. Aleš Zebec, who introduced the challenging topic to the students by presenting his PhD research on the use of AI technologies in different European companies and the impact on process and operational efficiency.
