Those of you who have already done a MTB tour with us will probably notice familiar places. This weekend, our team went planting trees 🌱 in the Karst, southwest of Slovenia. The area was ravaged by a severe fire last year 🥺, and since we like to cycle through the green forest (and not through the barren, black burnt landscape), we helped a little to make the transformation happen as quickly as possible 🌳

And since the late November day 🌤 was perfect for this, after the work we jumped on our bikes and rode to Štanjel. 🤠 What a fantastic day. Cheers! 🥂

We ended August with the 🚵‍♂️ guided tour in fantastic weather and with a group of five friends who were physically perfectly prepared 💪. This means that we were able to ride almost all of the longest and most demanding routes on the tour. Even high temperatures ☀️ did not stop us in the last two stages closer to the Adriatic Sea.

That's what MTB adventures are all about: the more prepared you are, the more you enjoy, because the natural elements - climbs, mud, sand, cold or heat - don't throw you off track 🤘. Guys, congratulations, and thank you, Andrej Remškar, for your guidance and wonderful photos.

Oh, September is knocking on our doors, sorry, we have to go 🚴. Let's do it! 😎

At the moment, the best you can do at sea coast is lie in the shade of a pine tree and listen to the crickets. 🥵 But in the fall it will be different. Temperatures between 15 and 20 degrees Celsius, empty beaches, empty trails 🦸‍♂️

The last day of Trans Slovenia 01 is always special, you could say emotional. Together, we managed to conquer the Alps, the Soča valley, the hills on the border with Italy, the blooming Vipava valley and the rocky Karst ✊. The finale is a fun descent to our lovely (yet small) coastline, a mandatory photo shoot in the center of charming Piran and a refreshing jump into the sea 🧜‍♂️

We can almost promise that we will remember the last few days for many years to come. Well, at least until memory loss catches us in the rocking chair in our old age. For then, let's keep the photos 😜

Once the Trans Slovenia 01 tour leaves the mountains behind 💪, including Goriška Brda, life on bicycles becomes a little easier. Make no mistake, it's still a MTB tour, we're enjoying remote dirt roads 🚵

But the geography of Slovenia makes the difference: Kras (Karst), for example, is a relatively flat plateau that you have to climb from the Vipava Valley. Kras is also a place where, instead of hydration at the end of the day with beer, we can take care of the blood - with local Teran wine, naturally rich in iron 🍷 Cheers / na zdravje! (which means 'to good health)

Trans Slovenia 01, day 4: here we can explain why it's cool to have an experienced guide with you. We often say, especially to everyone who wants to sign up for the tour, that 🚵 is not an easy tour. Even well-prepared MTB specialists who ride ALL the longest daily stages are pretty exhausted in the end 😜

Therefore, it is good that the guide (and the group with him) knows when to make things a little easier. This time our guide Andrej took the group on an easy MTB trip around Kobarid, then back to the town to visit the WWI museum 👍, and then along the flat path along the Soča River to Tolmin 🍗. The stage originally goes high under the peaks of the Julian Alps. The mountains can wait 😎

🚵 MTB cycling from Bovec to Kobarid, day 3 of , is called 'chasing the views'. You have to climb 🥵 quite a few meters in altitude, but the views of the Julian Alps on the other side of the Soča Valley are worth the effort 🕶

And where the day began - by the river Soča - it also ends, except that we refresh ourselves in this emerald mountain beauty a little further south, next to the historically important place of Kobarid with a very informative museum about the First World War.

If you are not interested in history (and you should be), you can see several beautiful natural sights, such as the Kozjak waterfall, or... Well, a cold beer 🍻 after a hard day is always a good choice. But not more than two! Tomorrow is another hard cycling day! 💪

, day 2: if yesterday was a warm-up, today is... well, let's call this heating up to the red zone 🥵 (during the ascent to the highest pass in Slovenia - on macadam), then a slow cool-down 🤠 (adrenaline descent) and a final cool-down 🥶 in crystal clear, but icy cold river Soča. Another wonderful day on a MTB bike 🚵

Those photos are from the first day, riding from Austria up to the triple border (Austria-Italy-Slovenia) and ending the day in Kranjska Gora. Not too demanding, but not an easy day either. Just enough for a warm-up 🤠

👉 "The best time for Trans Croatia Istria MTB Tour is already finished since it's getting warmer and warmer. Autumn time will be a great time to do it again! But for those who are lucky enough to live practically on the spot, early morning trails around Grožnjan are still perfect way of spending weekend on the bike." 😇
