Those of you who have already done a MTB tour with us will probably notice familiar places. This weekend, our team went planting trees 🌱 in the Karst, southwest of Slovenia. The area was ravaged by a severe fire last year 🥺, and since we like to cycle through the green forest (and not through the barren, black burnt landscape), we helped a little to make the transformation happen as quickly as possible 🌳
And since the late November day 🌤 was perfect for this, after the work we jumped on our bikes and rode to Štanjel. 🤠 What a fantastic day. Cheers! 🥂

We ended August with the 🚵♂️ guided tour in fantastic weather and with a group of five friends who were physically perfectly prepared 💪. This means that we were able to ride almost all of the longest and most demanding routes on the tour. Even high temperatures ☀️ did not stop us in the last two stages closer to the Adriatic Sea.
That's what MTB adventures are all about: the more prepared you are, the more you enjoy, because the natural elements - climbs, mud, sand, cold or heat - don't throw you off track 🤘. Guys, congratulations, and thank you, Andrej Remškar, for your guidance and wonderful photos.
Oh, September is knocking on our doors, sorry, we have to go 🚴. Let's do it! 😎
At the moment, the best you can do at sea coast is lie in the shade of a pine tree and listen to the crickets. 🥵 But in the fall it will be different. Temperatures between 15 and 20 degrees Celsius, empty beaches, empty trails 🦸♂️

The last day of Trans Slovenia 01 is always special, you could say emotional. Together, we managed to conquer the Alps, the Soča valley, the hills on the border with Italy, the blooming Vipava valley and the rocky Karst ✊. The finale is a fun descent to our lovely (yet small) coastline, a mandatory photo shoot in the center of charming Piran and a refreshing jump into the sea 🧜♂️
We can almost promise that we will remember the last few days for many years to come. Well, at least until memory loss catches us in the rocking chair in our old age. For then, let's keep the photos 😜

Once the Trans Slovenia 01 tour leaves the mountains behind 💪, including Goriška Brda, life on bicycles becomes a little easier. Make no mistake, it's still a MTB tour, we're enjoying remote dirt roads 🚵
But the geography of Slovenia makes the difference: Kras (Karst), for example, is a relatively flat plateau that you have to climb from the Vipava Valley. Kras is also a place where, instead of hydration at the end of the day with beer, we can take care of the blood - with local Teran wine, naturally rich in iron 🍷 Cheers / na zdravje! (which means 'to good health)

Trans Slovenia 01, day 4: here we can explain why it's cool to have an experienced guide with you. We often say, especially to everyone who wants to sign up for the tour, that 🚵 is not an easy tour. Even well-prepared MTB specialists who ride ALL the longest daily stages are pretty exhausted in the end 😜
Therefore, it is good that the guide (and the group with him) knows when to make things a little easier. This time our guide Andrej took the group on an easy MTB trip around Kobarid, then back to the town to visit the WWI museum 👍, and then along the flat path along the Soča River to Tolmin 🍗. The stage originally goes high under the peaks of the Julian Alps. The mountains can wait 😎
🚵 MTB cycling from Bovec to Kobarid, day 3 of , is called 'chasing the views'. You have to climb 🥵 quite a few meters in altitude, but the views of the Julian Alps on the other side of the Soča Valley are worth the effort 🕶
And where the day began - by the river Soča - it also ends, except that we refresh ourselves in this emerald mountain beauty a little further south, next to the historically important place of Kobarid with a very informative museum about the First World War.
If you are not interested in history (and you should be), you can see several beautiful natural sights, such as the Kozjak waterfall, or... Well, a cold beer 🍻 after a hard day is always a good choice. But not more than two! Tomorrow is another hard cycling day! 💪

, day 2: if yesterday was a warm-up, today is... well, let's call this heating up to the red zone 🥵 (during the ascent to the highest pass in Slovenia - on macadam), then a slow cool-down 🤠 (adrenaline descent) and a final cool-down 🥶 in crystal clear, but icy cold river Soča. We received an extensive photo gallery of a young couple who did a self-guided MTB tour this spring, a combination of the and . We had to adjust the tour at the last minute (thank you, Matic, thank you Katja 😘) because there was still snow in the Croatian mountains in April 🥶
But as the guests' impressions and photos show that the tour met expectations. Paths, tracks, islands, wild horses 🦄, slightly fewer wild cats 🐱, great food, and the awakening nature 🌱 in the north of the Adriatic Sea 🐟

View from the 'mountains' towards the 'islands'; towards the island of , to be more precise. It looks as bare as the moon from this side, but most of this northernmost Adriatic island is green. As you will be able to find out in three days, after the ferry from the island of Rab will bring you there.

It is raining 🌧 in Ljubljana today. But last weekend in Istria 🇭🇷 it was ... Perfect 💚 We handed over the GPS tracks 📍 to one of the guides, who must cycle the entire route for his 'homework'. 👉The difference between Trans Slovenia 01 and Trans Slovenia 02 1️⃣-2️⃣
The names of some of our tours by themselves may not describe the point clearly enough. With the name 'Trans Slovenia', we hope that it is clear that you’ll be 🚵♂️ crossing Slovenia, but the numbers are just that - numbers.
Both tours, the Trans Slovenia 01 (TS01) and Trans Slovenia 02 (TS02) have a common starting point - Arnoldstein in Austria, and the first riding day. After a sleepover in the ski village of Kranjska Gora, the paths diverge: TS01 heads directly south, to the highest road pass 🏔 in Slovenia, and on the other side descends into the valley of the Soča river, where four truly epic - but often quite challenging 🏋️♀️ - cycling routes await you. Meanwhile, the TS02 turns southeast along the Sava river valley to Bled, a town with a lake with an island and a church, which is perhaps even more famous than Slovenia itself 😎, and the next day the route leads through idyllic mountain pastures 🤠 to another beautiful lake, Bohinj, the largest in our country. Four days follow in lesser-known parts of Slovenia, sometimes only about 10 kilometers east of the Soča valley (air distance). On the way over 🏞 forested mountains, you will be accompanied by clean streams and rivers and unspoiled nature 💚, as well as sights under UNESCO protection, the mercury mine in Idrija, and the Škocjan Caves.
Only on the last day, the paths TS01 and TS02 meet again and flow like two rivers to the Adriatic Sea in charming Piran 🏖 🍻
Which one is right for you? In short, we can say that the TS01 is a more demanding MTB tour, while the slopes on the TS02 are a bit 🚵 friendlier. If you have the chance, explore both, and we’re pretty sure you won’t regret it. 👌 If there is anyone here who has already done this, please write down in the comment what you think.

On MTB tours, more than the tourist attractions themselves, we give priority to fun transfers along lesser-known paths and trails. But when we drive along the west coast of Istria on the new , we cannot pass by the romantic coastal town of ⛵️
In the spring and fall, when this tour is available, there will be no crowds. And the price of beer in the old city center will be reasonable 🍻🙃
