Like the quiet green marsh beauty Ljubljanica, the mysterious Bistra whose springs come from under an old Carthusian Monastery, or the small clear Iška, which flows through the pi

cturesque Iška gorge. But first and foremost, we organise fly fishing guided tours to our most beautiful and well-known rivers across Slovenia. Like our daughter of mountains, the picturesque Soča and Idrijca with its renowned marble trout, the unique river Unica, one of the best grayling rivers in Europe, the green river of love Krka with its famous cascades made out of travertine, or the cold mountain beauties Radovna, Sava Bohinjka, Savinja and many more. The gem of our offer is the guided tours to fish pike and the king of Slovenian streams, the hucho hucho (Danube salmon). You can catch these apex predatory fish with our guides on the beautiful river Ljubljanica, mighty Sava, alpine beauties Sava Bohinjka, Savinja, Unica, Cerkniško lake and many more, where you can land the largest specimens in our country. The customer can decide on the technique of fly fishing or with conventional gear. Our offer includes the unique experience of fly fishing or spinning from a boat at the river Ljubljanica. When you're at the right place at the right time, good things happen. Luka nailed this fantastic marble trout at one of my favorite streams in the Soča Valley 🩵💚💙, and to make the whole experience even more special, he got it on a dry fly. 👌😎

As promised, here's the second part of our fantastic day in the Soča Valley with Mike 🩵💚💙

We met early in the morning at the Ljubljana airport. The original plan and Mike's wish for that day was slightly different, as the goal was to chase grayling in central Slovenia closer to Ljubljana. Unfortunately or fortunately, the water conditions on our grayling rivers did not favor that, so we opted out for a second Mike's wish to get some solid marble trout. Ending up driving over the Vršič pass to the upper Soča Valley. And boy, it was a good decision. We were hitting a marble trout after a marble trout all day long. With a dry fly and nymphs, and to get to some of them, we needed to do some bushwacking, too! 😅 Everything worked for us! Mike landed some crackers, and honestly, we soon stopped counting them. 😁👌

Rare are days like the one I had with Mike on the upper Soča, as no fish was safe from us 🩵💚💙

I spent four amazing days with Franz on five different rivers. The weather was up and down, as was the fish activity, but he still did great and managed to land some fantastic fish. 💪💪💪

And we left something for our second session in the middle of the year. I'm already looking forward to it. 😉😁

•TBT• Look back to another epic day with a monster mable in the net 🔥😎

Reto and Christian, my returning clients, have already fished with me a few times. We decided that the theme of this trip was exploring new rivers. On the first day, we visited a river in the southwest part of Slovenia, where it is known that some truly big fish lurk around, and boy, it produced. Both caught a lot of fish, checked the box with beautiful marble, and Reto won the day, landing the biggest piece of marble slab. 💪💪💪

Truly, a day to remember!!! 👌🤝

Day two and three with the Battye boys were pure fun

We wrapped it up at the Soča Valley, and it was time to hit the road and check some other venues. We ended up trying and succeeding at catching some biggies at the river Idrijca and having loads of wild fish, mostly on dries, at the karst green beauty, Krka. 💚💙

The weather was surreal for this time of year, with daily temperatures exceeding 25°C, so went for a dip in the water each day, which only had around 9°C. dared it only at Soča on the first day. 🥶💦😅

Happy times! 🤘🤘🤘

Guess who's back, back again...
Duff and Eric are back, and so is the Soča Valley 🩵💚💙

Finally, the guiding season started, and we immediately jumped to check our daughter of the mountains, the river Soča.

The temperatures were abnormally high for this time of year, resulting in a runoff. Soča was very snowy, which meant our fishing was far from easy. But despite the difficult conditions, we tried and did our best. Duff immediately pecked his first dry-fly marble trout of the 2024 season, and Eric finished as the day's winner for the number of fish caught.

The first day was okay, and we spent a wonderful day in one of the prettiest places in Slovenia.

Sebastien managed to trick this fine marble trout buck in the late evening with oversized caddies casting into a tight back eddy on the far bank overreaching some fast current in between. And when he got it right, the take was ferocious, and to our joy, fish was on. It gave him a hell of a fight, but Seb still came out victorious after a couple of minutes, so we could marvel at this beautiful fish before it was quickly released back. 🩵💚💙

The grayling season starts on the 15th of May and ends on the last of November.

A 🌈 log per day keeps the doctor at bay 🤓

Fly fishing season in Slovenia starts on March 1st and lasts until the end of November. The primary season begins on April 1st (all trout species). But all our rivers are open from May, when the high season starts, and when you can catch all trout species and grayling. The best time is from April 1st until the end of July and then again in September and October.

That's a wrap! We didn't go out with a bang but still went out with style, catching a few precious 👑👑👑

We were out these last few days, trying to wrap up the 2023/24 season strong. We succeeded as we bagged a few more lovely fish, and with some luck, we would easily have more. But that's fishing, and we're not complaining, as it was still a perfect ending, and we do need some challenges left for next season. 😅🤝

Tomorrow, we're wrapping up the 2023/24 hucho hucho season, so let's do a small reflection on how it went 👑

I'll start with this petite stream, which was super fun and gave us some fantastic surprises this season. I wish we would fish it more often, as we never went home empty-handed whenever we ended there. We would frequently get more than one fish. Usually, these fish were between 40 and 60 cm, but we had a couple going over the 70 and even 90 cm mark. As I said, it was a fun experience, and I'm already looking forward to next season, as I'm sure there are more cool surprises awaiting us in this tiny stream.

A fantastic day spent with Duff and Doker at the upper Soča Valley, chasing elusive wild marble trout. Pristine nature, beautiful and willing wild marble trout, excellent company, the only thing "off" that day was slightly rude, and obviously, pised off kayaker with his middle finger pointing towards us. What more could you wish for? 😅🤓

3rd time with Danijel, and we're still missing the big one. What's good is that every time we fish together, we're on a fish. 😁🤞

At our first meeting three years ago, he lost a really big one. This one will haunt us for a while. Last year, we ended with two smaller ones. 😎
And how we did this time? Right at the beginning, we saw one surfacing in the middle of the pool, but he showed no interest in our lures. An hour later, he caught a small one, around 50 cm. It was a promising start, and it's nice seeing them in all sizes, as it shows we have a healthy habitat here. Unfortunately, that was more or less it as it calmed down all the way to the end of the day. We did get another bite late in the afternoon, but we didn't connect with the fish. Probably was another smaller one. But that's the nature of the hucho hucho fishing. So many times, you will not even see their tail. So we will try again. 💪💪💪
