Gambia-Senegal 8 Days Birdswatching!

DAY 1
Airport arrival and transfer to Senegambia Beach hotel for an overnight.
DAY 2
After breakfast, early departure to Abuko Nature Reserve & Lamin Lodge. Visit Abuko Nature Reserve, one of the most accessible and rewarding birdwatching sites in The Gambia. Look for species like the Green Turaco, African Paradise Flycatcher, and Western Bluebill. Continue for lunch at a local spot then head to Lamin Lodge, a beautiful riverside location. Take a boat trip to explore the mangroves, spotting various water birds. Back to the hotel for an overnight.
DAY 3
Early breakfast, then visit Kotu Stream and its surroundings, a prime birdwatching area. Look out for species such as the White-faced Whistling Duck, African Jacana, and Malachite Kingfisher. In the afternoon, lunch at a local restaurant. Explore the Fajara Golf Course area for more bird species. Return to the hotel for an overnight.
DAY 4
Early breakfast and depart to drive to Makasutu Cultural Forest, a beautiful and diverse ecosystem. Enjoy guided birdwatching tours, looking for species like the Violet Turaco and Senegal Parrot. Lunch will be served at the forest. Continue birdwatching and explore the cultural aspects of the forest. Return to the hotel for an overnight.
DAY 5
Early breakfast and depart to visit Tanji Bird Reserve, a coastal reserve known for its diverse birdlife. Look for seabirds, waders, and forest species. Lunch will be served at a local spot, then continue birdwatching in the reserve or visit the nearby fishing village for a cultural experience. Return to the hotel for an overnight.
DAY 6
Early breakfast and have a long drive to Tendaba Camp in the Baobolong Wetlands on the river. Arrive at the camp and check in the rooms. Lunch is served and in the early evening, take a boat tour to explore the wetlands birdlife. Return to the camp for a dinner and an overnight.
DAY 7
After breakfast, morning birding around the camp before having lunch and returning to the hotel at the coast.
DAY 8
Early breakfast and drive to visit Bijilo Forest Park for a final birdwatching session. Spot species such as the Red-billed Hornbill and Long-tailed Glossy Starling. Return to the hotel for lunch and get ready for departure to the airport.

Postojna Cave, Slovenia is a 24.34 km (15.12 mi) long karst cave system and is the second-longest cave system in the country (following the Migovec System), as well as one of its top tourism sites. At least almost 1 million tourists per year are visiting this attraction.

I'd like to share about our cave tour there.

1. We bought the ticket first on the ground floor of Hotel Jama for 32 euros.
2. We checked what time is our boarding time for the underground train.
3. We queued before our boarding time to avoid waiting so long under the sun and to be first on the queue.
4. We decided to join the Italian speaking group, but you can also join with the English, Deutch, etc speaking group.
5. The temperature inside of the cave is 10 degrees. It is better to have your own coat or jacket, but in case you don't have it with you, there are available jackets or coats for rent inside the cave worth 6 euros.
6. The time finally came, we went inside and took the train.
7. The train ride took 10 minutes, but the views along the way are unforgettable.
8. When we took off from the train, the walking cave tour began. It took 45 minutes or at least 1 hour (for me), since the tour will take 1-hr and 30 mins. (including the train rides)
9. We took photos, but without flash as instructed.
10. The last part of the tour is to see the Olms or they called them baby dragons (the underwater cave salamanders that really look like dragons.
11. Time to take again the train for 10 minutes to go out from the cave.
12. I didn't know that my hands were cold as ice, until they touch them.

Lastly, there are lots of souvenir stalls or stores outside selling items that are worth to keep as remembrance.

Reminder: Always charge your phone or bring your camera. There are many beautiful parts inside of the cave that are worth for caption...and bring your own coat.😎

BOHOL, Philippines

1. Chocolate Hills- these are not the chocolate that you often crave to taste, but these are for the eyes to admire only. There are over 1, 200 symmetrical mounds near the town of Carmen, Bohol, waiting for you to be visited.
2. Loboc River- this is for a river cruise with 1.5 kilometers distance. It usually comes inclusive of a generous buffet lunch, or dinner served right on the raft. This floating and moving restaurant also has singers and musicians onboard to serenade guests while enjoying the popular Filipino dishes.
3. Tarsier Sanctuary- One of the world's oldest and smallest primate. They are intermediate in form between lemurs and monkeys, measuring only about 9–16 cm (3.5–6 inches) long, excluding a tail of about twice that length. They are literally the size of your clenched fist.
4. Bohol Beaches- the powdery white sands are incredibly soft, making them easy to slip through your fingers with the breeze. You can find these white sand beaches in Alona, Virgin Island, Anda, Quinale, Dumaluan, Panglao, and Doljo.
