Perhaps you heard what happened in the cave Križna jama last days: a family of 3 went on the long, 6-hour guided cave expedition: On the way back, they noticed that the water level in the cave had increased so much that they were trapped inside the cave. Only two days later (yesterday), the water level had dropped enough for them to get safely out of the cave. In the meantime, specialists from the Slovene Cave Rescue organisation managed to go several times to them, to check how they were doing and to bring them food, a tent and clothing. This must have been incredibly difficult because they had to dive upstream through an underground mountain torrent, with no visibility whatshowever.
By now I heard more details about what happened, and it is clear to me that nobody is to blame. The main guide, who is extremely experienced, was correctly checking both weather forecasts and the water level in the cave (which is observed by cave guides for three decades), and later also dealt with the situation in a highly profesional way. None of the family was ever in any danger. And what the divers managed to do was pretty incredible.
I don't know if any of you from the team or family will read this, but I like to congratulate you all with your courage and the way you handled this unprecedented and unexpected situation. I must say that I was quite worried when I heard the news messages, but I have now even more fate in you guys and hope to bring groups to Križna jama also this year!
