Hiking in spectacular Julian Alps in Slovenia most surely crosses Slovenes' path. Have you met the locals yet?
I remember travelers being amazed saying all Slovenes are friendly, genuine, tough, proud and fit.
Before I continue, give the photo of the magnificent Julian Alps a close look. Have you noticed anything exceptional about our habitat?
Allow me explain.
Having a home in those mountains is:
- waking up rolling down the hill - no one can conquer it that early in the morning.
- appearing in downtown office looking like your suit meet the biogeochemical cycle - only genuine people will disclose unrepentant friendship.
- bush bashing uphill run home - it's just going home after work
- disconnected from the rest of the world - we use survival skills like talk & listen, light a fire, eat forest strawberries, help each other walk another mile and sometimes fall asleep under the stars.
