The Church of St. Nicholas ⛪

The temple is part of a unique urban complex in the center of the village of 📍Bodružal. In addition to the church, it also consists of a separate bell tower🔔, an adjacent cemetery🪦 and a wooden enclosure with a shingle roof and an entrance gate.

The Baroque interior decoration of the interior is complemented by wall paintings🎨 on wood from the 90s of the 18th century, which depict scenes depicting scenes from the Bible - the Apocalypse and the Crucifixion. From the same period comes the iconostasis with a rococo appearance, on which there are three rows of icons.

The temple has been inscribed on the UNESCO World Heritage List since 2008.

Relaxation with a touch of history

Austro-Hungarian Emperor Joseph II, Maria Louise, later wife of Emperor Napoleon, Russian Tsar Alexander I, or the wife of Francis Joseph I, Empress Sissi. All of them were treated in the past in the 📍Bardejov spa. Sissi has her statue in the spa park, she was also honored with a 📍museum in the Elizabeth treatment house.

The spa experienced its greatest flourishing in the first half of the 19th century, currently it belongs to the top of Slovak spas with a long tradition and has the broadest indicative focus among all Slovak spas.

In some older documents, the Bardejov spa was referred to as the "spa of peace".

In the spa there is a pedestrian zone and a forest park, a summer swimming pool with heated water, hiking trails, the Kamenná hora observation tower, as well as the Museum of Folk Architecture - an open-air museum.

A crater without a volcano?

A 🤩 unique travertine lake in the shape of a crater, which was 🌋not formed by volcanic activity, but by the collapse of a travertine mound, which was filled 💧with mineral water over time.
It is located in the area of the 📍Vyšné Ružbachy spa, where you will also find other craters, but only one is filled 💧with thermal mineral water enriched with calcium, the others are dry.

The crater with a water🌡️ temperature of 24°C is the warmest spring in Ružbachy and since 1967 it has been included among the protected natural formations of Slovakia. And that's why swimming in it is forbidden!

You can get to 📍 Jasná by ski bus from Liptovský Mikuláš, Liptovský Ján, Liptovský Trnovec and Bešeňová. If you come by car to Demänova, a bus will take you from the parking lot in 15 minutes. intervals (during lunch at 30 min. intervals).

The ski bus will also take you to 📍 Malinô Brdo.

A novelty this winter, in addition to 🌘the evening ski bus, is also the PARTY BUS! 🕺 Since January, he will take you every Friday in the late evening hours from Liptovský Mikuláš to a party in 📍Jasná.

✨The magic of Christmas markets in Bratislava ✨

Christmas Markets 🎄in 📍Bratislava have a friendly atmosphere and are filled with people enjoying the upcoming holiday season.
You can find diversity of products and services here - from traditional food,🥂 alcoholic and non-alcoholic beverages, and many street artists🧑‍🎤

All of the food-stalls offer traditional Slovak winter specialties, such as:

Loksa - thin baked potato pancakes, usually served with grease and duck liver or in many sweet variations

🥔 Zemiakove placky - thick fried potato pancakes

Trdelnik - Dessert! This is a sweet dough roll usually served in a cinamon or vanilla flavor.

Fancy for some drink? Big tradition, however, comes from alcoholic drinks, so make sure to have a sip from:

🍯Medovina - spirit made from honey

🍷Varene vino - mulled wine

Punc - punch drink, made from two main ingredients - wine and rum. This is the most traditional drink.
