The Bratislava roll, also known as Pressburg bajgel, is a traditional sweet pastry featuring a rich walnut or poppy seed filling. The shape of the pastry indicates the type of filling inside: a horseshoe shape signifies a poppy seed filling, while a crescent shape reveals a walnut filling. It was exciting to watch opening a champagne bottle with a saber on our Special Wine Tasting Tour. Opening a wine bottle with a saber is a technique known as "sabrage."
