Eng: Joal Fadiouth is a fishing village located on a small island at the end of the Petite Cote📍It is a strip of land completely covered in shells, the result of the constant accumulation of shells, made by the inhabitants over the centuries and used to build houses, mosques, churches and every other building on the island, including streets and the small and peculiar cemetery 🐚If you want to enter the town you have to cross a bridge

Eng: With its heavy historical past, Goree is one of the essential stages during your stay in Senegal ✨With its famous house of slaves, its colorful pedestrian streets or the hospitality of its inhabitants, plan this stage in a day or for an overnight stay 🙌🏿

This wall, in case you haven't noticed it in my following posts, is my favorite wall 🤭

Located more than 30 km from Dakar, Lac Rose has become over the past few years an emblematic site to visit during your days in Senegal 🙌🏿

You can take a canoe ride, see all the salt they get out of the lake, ride a 4x4 to walk through the sand dunes, and more 🥰

Merry Christmas! 🎄🎁

I took this photo in Joal Fadiouth this 2022

This 2022 has been a complete year. After everything that happened with the covid, although in Senegal we did not have many outbreaks, it did affect tourism, so that affected me directly. That is why I decided to start with Tourisme Senegal to the fullest, so that now that we are a little better, you have the opportunity to get an idea of how to be in Senegal and if you dare, to be able to live this experience with me ❤️

In this 2023 many things await us... and finally you will be able to see everything that I am working on with love and with the help of .elkartea 🚀

Thank you for all the love you give me every day and for continuing to get to know my country 🇸🇳

I wish you have wonderful last days of the year 😚

Hey! Many of you here already know me but well, I introduce myself for those who don't. I'm Bass, I'm Senegalese and I've been a tour guide since 2012. I've always used other social networks and now Instagram is a new challenge for me.
I love showing Senegal, telling its history and reality to visitors, meeting people and giving our ideas and opinions.
For now I speak Wolof, French and English (I'm learning Spanish but I'm still not able to express myself well 😜).
If you are thinking of visiting Senegal, you are in the best hands...................................................................

''His presence has been essential from the first moment we arrived in
Senegal. At every moment he has been attentive to our needs,
anticipating his own needs for ours. He is a guide, driver, member of
Euleuk and now a friend with vital social skills that not everyone
has. This quality makes him unique and makes me personally want to
come back to see more of Senegal and the culture and traditions that
make the people of the country so special. Thank you for opening your
heart to us and letting us be part of your reality. Keep always being
as special as you are''

'' Bass is the best guide you can find in Senegal! From the first day he helped us a lot with problems that arose during our stay.
Always with a smile and taking us to the best places in Senegal.

He also introduced us to the Senegalese culture, taking us to his neighbourhood and introducing us to his family.

Bass is not just a guide, he is so much more!
Thank you very much for everything, we will come again!''

"See you soon Senegal,

I would like to thank Bass and .elkartea for this trip because without them this adventure would not have been the same.

To Bass for putting up with us 24/7, for welcoming us into his incredible family, for being our confidant and always worrying about us, for always having a smile from ear to ear and taking care of us like queens. To Olatz for helping us so much from a distance, for always being attentive to us, but above all, for being who he is.

Warang has been and will be our little home in Senegal. A little town full of sheep, donkeys, pigs, goats, horrible mosquitoes and wonderful people.

From Senegal I am taking its people, wonderful people who welcome you as soon as they meet you, smile at you and hug you as if you were part of their family, resilient and humble people, who open up and trust you and whose happiness does not depend on material things. I also take with me all the unconditional love that the children of the town, the babies of the orphanage and the sisters have given us.

Coming home after everything we have seen and experienced is strange, but it comforts us to know that it is not goodbye, but a see you later.

We will meet again, Jerejef Senegal. Always in my heart"

It was the first time I had left Senegal. I have never dreamed of traveling because in my life I have always had other priorities and although they are a bit hard, it is the reality of many people. When I had the opportunity to go to Morocco, although I had many questions in my head, I did not hesitate for a second. Entering the airport, all the questions they asked me, the passport, securities... and well, you can imagine how I was during the two-three hour trip. But it was worth it. Now I'm looking forward to when I ever get a chance to do another adventure.

The island of Gorée is an island that has 17 hectares and is very close to Dakar. For more than 3 centuries it has been used as a slave market and from here they were taken to the United States, Brazil and the Caribbean.

Until 1848 it was the most active slave market. In 1536, the first slave house was created in Gorée and is now used as a museum. More than twenty million people, men, women and children, were kidnapped from their villages, sold and brought to this island. Here were 5 rooms: for men, for women, for young women, for children and for those slaves who needed to gain weight.

Once the owners valued the slaves, they sold them and made them go through a corridor to board a ship and cross the ocean. At the end of the corridor you could see the rays of the sun and the sea, but also this was the point used by the slave guards to throw those who did not reach a minimum weight or those difficult-to-sell slaves into the sea.
