A rich and varied ecosystem. Pirogue en bois colorés, la pêche artisanale constitue un levier important au Sénégal.
Le village des pêcheurs communément appelé "langue de Barbarie " est un cordon dunaire qui sépare l'océan et le petit bras du fleuve senegal.
