𝗡𝗼𝘁 𝘆𝗼𝘂𝗿 𝗮𝘃𝗲𝗿𝗮𝗴𝗲 𝘀𝗰𝗵𝗼𝗼𝗹 𝘁𝗿𝗶𝗽...

Eight students from The Netherlands took on the ultimate survival challenge: 15 days of intense training in the jungle and savannah of Suriname.

They kicked things off with a 'wildlife in the jungle' course. They learned what to look out for and of course snake training! Brownsberg served as their first training ground, where they picked up essential skills. But the real test came on the savannah: 4 full days of building shelters, finding water, and sourcing their own food, everything learned put into practice.

The adventure ended with a well-earned rest at a hotel in Paramaribo, a moment to reflect, recover, and celebrate.

Big shout-out to their guides Ash and Jordy, and the three dedicated supervisors who made this journey possible.

In 2024, our Unlock Nature guides, who also volunteer with Stichting Snake Patrol Suriname, had the incredible opportunity to assist in finding and filming some of Suriname’s deadliest creatures!

Joining forces with legendary British naturalist Steve Backshall, our team explored the wild, uncovering the secrets of these fascinating yet dangerous animals. Steve and his crew, who in many ways influenced the career path of some of our guides, not only supported Stichting Snake Patrol Suriname but also gave us well-deserved credit both on and off camera.

The episode aired in September 2024 on Deadly 60, and we couldn’t be more excited to have been part of this adventure! 🎥

We’re thrilled to share this wonderful feedback from a recent three-day tour to Brownsberg, focusing on herpetology! They had an incredible time exploring the beautiful surroundings and learning about the local wildlife.

With a private tour, they could really dive into the world of reptiles and amphibians. They even spotted the smallest frog species hidden among the leaves! Our guides shared their knowledge about various plants and their uses, making the trip even more interesting.

The wildlife right outside their accommodation was a highlight, and the pleasant climate made for a comfortable stay with hardly any mosquitoes.
