Ever wonder why surfing is so important for El Salvador? Well, the answer is easier than what you might think, you see El Salvador is a small country with an incredible coastline - it only has access to the Pacific Ocean. And it host world surfing spots, spots that were discovered by crazy hippies traveling the southern coast of Mexico in the early 70’s. El Salvador quickly became a popular place among young surfers from California. A civil war in the decades of the 80’s stopped griegos coming into the country. Not to mention all the crazy gang violence El Salvador suffered in the last 25 years. NOW, it’s time to tell the world El Salvador… the new El Salvador is a safe place to travel and by hosting events like the ISA world longboard championship El Salvador makes its way to the surfing community around the world. A community that is eager for new surfing spots, warm water, no sharks and short distance surfing spots. It’s time to tell the world , El Salvador is the new place to go!
