Firework's mum returns with her new calf
Every day on the water is a good day, but some days are just magic 🐋💙
Yesterday afternoon we had beautiful encounters with a mother we knew well from 2019 and 2020 when she was in TCI with her calf we nicknamed 'Firework' because of the firework pattern on it's fluke. Seeing her again yesterday with a new calf was incredible - she was so relaxed, just like in previous years, allowing her calf to cruise along next to us while we floated and watched in awe.

On Valentine's Day there was some magic in the water! The visibility wasn't so good again, but our guests were lucky enough to experience this extended, peaceful encounter with two adult humpback whales. Here is a short clip of the beautiful encounter - they were resting for minutes and slowly moved into a nose-to-nose position while we floated calmly at the surface - a perfect Valentine's Day pose!

These are the kind of in-water encounters we live for! The whales are relaxed and unthreatened by our presence, and we're so privileged to be able to watch them and share their world for a few moments.
