I am a Thai traditional leather art artist and master craftsman and have created custom-made leather carvings for 20 years. Welcome To The Mystical Leather Carvings Online Shop
My pictures are handmade from buffalo or cow leather. Each picture is individually carved and, therefore, always unique pieces. For colouring, I use very high-quality acrylic paints and organic colours. These colours are w
aterproof and guaranteed to last permanently. My Story
My grandfather taught me the techniques of creating traditional leather carvings. I inherit the craftsmanship which has been practised back in time in generations of my family. Antique Thai details are added to the original patterns with permanent colours. It creates exquisite and unique works of leather art. From my leather carvings, you can see that I am fascinated by Thai Ancient History and Buddhist Art and am passionate about elephants. When my customers and visitors visit my gallery in Koh Samui, one of the first questions I get is, "What do the elephants mean to me?"
For Thai people, the elephants symbolizes luck, happiness, and prosperity. The national symbol of Thailand, elephants, are admired for their strength, endurance, and intelligence. According to Buddhist tradition, on the night of Buddha's birth, his mother had a dream and was given a lotus flower by a white elephant. Chang is the Thai name for elephants. Sadly, the number of elephants in Thailand has declined from about 100,000 to less than 5,000 since the early 20th century. Custom Carvings
