Good to know! Did your passport make the list?
Citizens from 93 countries and territories can now enter Thailand visa-free for a 60-day stay. Among these, 57 countries already had visa-free access but were limited to shorter durations.
Additionally, 13 countries that previously received a 30-day visa stamp can now also enjoy a 60-day stay. Six new countries and regions were added to the visa-free list, while the remaining 17 now qualify for a visa on arrival, also for 60 days.
In contrast, holders of Thai passports have access to 82 countries and territories worldwide. Of these, 41 countries allow entry without a visa. For 38 countries, Thai passport holders can obtain a visa upon arrival, and in three countries, they require an Electronic Travel Authorization (eTA) before travel.
Interestingly, there is an overlap of 35 countries that fall into both categories—countries, and territories where citizens can enter Thailand visa-free for 60 days and countries where Thai passport holders can travel without a visa or obtain a visa on arrival.
More European countries and territories are included in the list where citizens enjoy visa-free entry into Thailand compared to the number of countries that grant visa-free access to Thai passport holders. Additionally, the places that overlap, allowing visa-free travel in both directions, are predominantly Asian.
An interesting exception to this pattern is Myanmar, which, despite being in Southeast Asia, does not allow visa-free entry into Thailand, while Thai passport holders can enter Myanmar without a visa.
