This past week, several Thai Embassies and Consulates around the world announced that starting January 1, 2025, they'll be using the Thai E-Visa system at https://thaievisa.go.th/ to handle visa applications, processing, and issuance. This means they'll stop accepting in-person visa applications and issuing Thai Visa Stickers by Christmas Eve, December 24, 2024. Some places will even stop earlier, with a few Embassies/Consulates halting on December 20, 2024. In Taipei, this change will happen on December 27, 2024.
Keep in mind that processing times for Thai E-Visas are longer now, with many Embassies announcing it will take 10-15 working days to process and issue visas.
Also, some Thai Embassies/Consulates won’t be accepting card payments through the E-Visa website. Instead, you'll need to pay in cash after submitting your application online. The Embassies/Consulates with this cash payment requirement include those in Vientiane, Savannakhet, Yangon, India, Brunei, Pakistan, Tel Aviv, Jordan, and a few others.
These updates are part of the Thai Government’s plan to switch all 94 Thai Embassies/Consulates worldwide to the E-Visa system by the end of 2024.
