On 13 January 2025, His Excellency Mr. Faiyaz Murshid Kazi, Ambassador of the People’s Republic of Bangladesh to Thailand and esteemed member of the AIT Board of Trustees, visited the Asian Institute of Technology (AIT) and presented a generous gift of 85 books from the Government of Bangladesh to the AIT Library.

“Meet & Greet Event” Event in Phuket

The Embassy of Bangladesh in Bangkok, in collaboration with Phuket City Municipality, successfully organized the “Meet & Greet” program on 27 December 2024 at the Municipality Hall in Phuket. The event was held to celebrate International Migrants Day 2024 and National Expatriates Day 2024.

The Ambassador of Bangladesh to Thailand, presided over the program which includes a documentary screening, remarks by local dignitaries like the Vice President of Phuket Chamber of Commerce, Deputy Mayor of Phuket City Authority and Bangladeshi diaspora in Phuket. The engaging discussions aimed at strengthening ties with the Bangladeshi expatriate community.

Meet and Greet with Hon’ble Foreign Adviser of the Government of Bangladesh

The Embassy of Bangladesh in Bangkok hosted a Meet and Greet Session with the Hon’ble Foreign Adviser HE Mr Md Touhid Hossain on 18 December 2024.

Invited Bangladeshi expatriates from diverse professional backgrounds, including UN professionals, academics, young business entrepreneurs, bankers, students, and community representatives shared their thoughts, ideas, and aspirations for the development of the Bangladeshi community abroad and our nation as a whole.

The Hon’ble Foreign Adviser expressed heartfelt appreciation for the valuable insights shared by the attendees and reaffirmed the commitment to fostering stronger ties with the Bangladeshi diaspora in Thailand.

বাংলাদেশ দূতাবাস, ব্যাংকক আজ যথাযোগ্য মর্যাদায় মহান বিজয় দিবস ২০২৪ উদযাপন করে। অনুষ্ঠানের শুরুতে রাষ্ট্রদূত ফাইয়াজ মুরশিদ কাজী আনুষ্ঠানিকভাবে জাতীয় পতাকা উত্তোলন করেন। অনুষ্ঠানে শহীদ মুক্তিযোদ্ধা, জুলাই-আগস্ট ২০২৪ গণঅভ্যুত্থানে শহীদ ছাত্র-জনতার আত্মার শান্তি কামনা, গণঅভ্যুত্থানে আহতদের দ্রুত আরোগ্য কামনা এবং দেশের অব্যাহত শান্তি ও সমৃদ্ধি কামনা করে বিশেষ মোনাজাত করা হয়। দিবসটি উপলক্ষ্যে মহামান্য রাষ্ট্রপতি, মাননীয় প্রধান উপদেষ্টা এবং মাননীয় পররাষ্ট্র উপদেষ্টা কর্তৃক প্রদত্ত বাণী পাঠ করা হয়। অনুষ্ঠানে দূতাবাসের সকল কর্মকর্তা-কর্মচারী ও শিশুসহ প্রবাসী বাংলাদেশিরা উপস্থিত ছিলেন।


আলোচনা পর্বে আগত অতিথিবৃন্দ মহান বিজয় দিবস ও জুলাই-আগস্ট ২০২৪ গণঅভ্যুত্থানের তাৎপর্য সম্পর্কে আলোচনা করেন। রাষ্ট্রদূত উপস্থিত সুধীমন্ডলীকে বিজয় দিবসের শুভেচ্ছা জানিয়ে বলেন, ১৯৭১ সালের ১৬ই ডিসেম্বর যে বিজয় বাংলাদেশের মানুষকে এক কাতারে দাঁড় করিয়েছিল, সেই চেতনার উদ্বোধনের মধ্য দিয়ে আমরা অতীতের ভুলক্রুটি শুধরে নিয়ে একটি বিজয়ী জাতি হিসেবে পুনরায় আত্মপ্রকাশ করতে সক্ষম হব। নতুন প্রজন্মের সাথে সুর মিলিয়ে বাংলাদেশসহ পুরো পৃথিবীকেই বদলে দেওয়ার অঙ্গীকার বাস্তবায়নে তিনি সকলকে এক সাথে কাজ করার আহবান জানান।

উল্লেখ্য, মহান বিজয় দিবস উপলক্ষ্যে আজ World Traveler on Foot এর পদব্রাজক সাইফুল ইসলাম দূতাবাস প্রাঙ্গণে শিশুদের নিয়ে একটি চারা রোপন করেন। মহান বিজয় দিবস উপলক্ষ্যে দূতাবাসের বিভিন্ন কর্মসূচির মধ্যে গত ১২ ডিসেম্বর ২০২৪ তারিখে ব্যাংককের রেডক্রস সোসাইটিতে স্বেচ্ছায় রক্তদান কর্মসূচির আয়োজন করা হয়। এতে অন্যান্যদের মধ্যে বাংলাদেশ বুদ্ধিষ্ট অ্যাসোসিয়েশন-এর সদস্যরা স্বত:স্ফূর্তভাবে অংশ নেন।

এছাড়া, গত ১৫ ডিসেম্বর ২০২৪ তারিখে ব্যাংককের টার্ড থাই ক্রিকেট স্টেডিয়ামে দূতাবাসের সহযোগিতায় Bangladesh Community in Thailand Cricket Club কর্তৃক আয়োজিত T-10 ক্রিকেট প্রতিযোগিতা অনুষ্ঠিত হয়। উক্ত ক্রিকেট প্রতিযোগিতায় বাংলাদেশ, ভারত, পাকিস্তান ও শ্রীলংকার স্থানীয় ক্রিকেট দল অংশগ্রহণ করে। প্রতিযোগিতায় বাংলাদেশ দল চ্যাম্পিয়ন হয়। রাষ্ট্রদূত চ্যাম্পিয়ন দলসহ অংশগ্রহণকারীদের মধ্যে পুরস্কার বিতরণ করেন। অনুষ্ঠানে নিউজিল্যান্ড ও শ্রীলংকার রাষ্ট্রদূত ছাড়াও ক্রিকেট অ্যাসোসিয়েশন অব থাইল্যান্ড-এর প্রতিনিধিরা উপস্থিত ছিলেন।
