Naturist organisations worldwide have challenged Meta over changes in content moderation policies that they claim unfairly target images of the human body.

Para pôr fim à censura à n**ez não s*xual nas redes sociais, federações naturistas de mais de 30 países em todo o mundo, juntamente com a Fundação Internacional dos Direitos Humanos, escreveram à Meta, instando-os a pôr fim a esta prática.

A censura à recreação nua e ao naturismo nas redes sociais não é apenas prejudicial ao nosso passatempo e/ou estilo de vida agradável, mas também à visão social mais ampla, onde a distinção entre um “corpo nu normal” e s**o é cada vez mais confusa. Embora um corpo nu não seja motivo de vergonha. Ninguém nasce vestindo roupas!

Por estes motivos, uma carta aberta foi enviada diretamente ao Meta, e todas as federações envolvidas estão se manifestando no Facebook. Além disso, um comunicado de imprensa foi enviado à mídia nacional para aumentar a conscientização sobre o assunto.

We are many!

The INF-FNI today leads a global coalition of 30 nations challenging Meta’s censorship and demanding fairness for body positivity and naturism.

An open letter emphasizes that this issue goes beyond naturism, calling attention to how censorship of non-s*xual nudity perpetuates body shame and undermines the promotion of body positivity. It calls for platforms to adopt fairer and more consistent moderation practices.

Naturist federations from six continents are participating in this initiative.

Stéphane Deschênes, President of INF-FNI, said “Unjust censorship is not only unfair to our community but also sends a damaging message to society that the human body is inherently shameful. Social media has the power to normalize inclusivity and body positivity, but it’s time for change.”

Naturist federations from over 30 countries, in partnership with the International Human Rights Foundation, have issued an open letter to Meta to challenge the practice of body shaming through the censorship of non-s*xual nudity on social media.

The suppression of genuine depictions of the human body, coupled with the prevalence of stylised and unrealistic body images has:
1) Been a major factor in the deterioration in mental wellbeing, particularly among young people.
2) Promoted the objectification of women.
3) Discriminated against minority groups including Naturists, transgender, and gender non-binary individuals.
4) Stifled the rights of individuals to express their identity and deeply held beliefs.

This open letter has been sent directly to Meta, with the involved federations releasing statements on their websites and social media accounts to amplify the message.

สหพันธ์ธรรมชาติจากกว่า 30 ประเทศทั่วโลก รวมถึงมูลนิธิสิทธิมนุษยชนสากล ได้ส่งจดหมายถึงบริษัทเมตา (Meta) เพื่อเรียกร้องให้หยุดการปฏิบัติใหม่ของเมตาในการเซ็นเซอร์ภาพที่เกี่ยวข้องกับการพักผ่อนแบบเปลือยกายและธรรมชาตินิยมบนโซเชียลมีเดีย

การปฏิบัตินี้ไม่เพียงแต่ส่งผลกระทบต่อกิจกรรมที่สร้างความเพลิดเพลินและวิถีชีวิตของธรรมชาตินิยมในประเทศไทยและทั่วโลก แต่ยังส่งผลต่อสังคมไทยในวงกว้างอีกด้วย เรามีความกังวลว่าเส้นแบ่งระหว่าง "ร่างกายเปลือยที่เป็นเรื่องปกติ" กับเรื่องเพศจะเลือนลางมากขึ้น ร่างกายเปลือยนั้นไม่ใช่สิ่งที่น่าอับอาย! ไม่มีใครเกิดมาพร้อมเสื้อผ้าติดตัว!

ด้วยเหตุผลเหล่านี้ จึงได้มีการส่งจดหมายเปิดผนึกโดยตรงถึงบริษัทเมตา และสหพันธ์ที่เกี่ยวข้องทั้งหมดได้แสดงจุดยืนผ่านเฟซบุ๊ก นอกจากนี้ ยังได้มีการเผยแพร่ข่าวประชาสัมพันธ์ถึงสื่อมวลชนระดับชาติ เพื่อสร้างความตระหนักรู้ในประเด็นนี้

Naturist federations from more than 30 countries worldwide, together with the International Human Rights Foundation, have written to Meta, urging them to stop the new practice of Meta to censor images of n**e recreation and naturism on social media.

This new practice is not only harmful to the enjoyable pastime and/or lifestyle of naturists in Thailand and elsewhere in the world, but also to the broader Thai society. We are worried that the distinction between a 'normal naked body' and s*x is increasingly blurred. A naked body is nothing to be ashamed of! No one is born wearing clothes!

For these reasons, an open letter has been sent directly to Meta, and all the involved federations are making a statement on Facebook. Additionally, a press release has been sent to national media to raise awareness of the issue.
