Discover the gems of Vietnam's central coast all by bike, from where the Annamite Mountains meet the South China Sea! On 𝘾𝙮𝙘𝙡𝙞𝙣𝙜 𝙑𝙞𝙚𝙩𝙣𝙖𝙢'𝙨 𝘾𝙚𝙣𝙩𝙧𝙖𝙡 𝘾𝙤𝙖𝙨𝙩, we'll saddle up to ride along tranquil routes, lush rice fields, pristine beaches, and challenging mountain passes. We'll also glimpse into the history of the ancient Hindu Cham civilization, the former Nguyen dynasty, and remnants of the unforgotten war years – here are some of the highlights from this 10-day coastal biking journey.
🏰 Exploring historic Hue, a city where we'll visit the grandiose tomb of a famous emperor, cross the beautiful Perfume River, and also see the Forbidden City of the Nguyen dynasty.
🪦 Arriving at the “Ghost City,” a complex of huge, remarkably ornate mausoleums built and dedicated to the ancestors of many Vietnamese families.
🚵♀️ Climbing 480 meters ASL to conquer the iconic Hai Van Pass for its superb views over Da Nang Bay. Trust us, it’s well worth the ride!
📷 Discovering mysterious My Son, the ancient capital of the Cham civilization, a Hindu people who ruled this region until some 500 years ago.
🚲 Crossing the impressive Cua Dai Bridge, which stands high above the Thu Bon River and is known for its panoramic views of the open ocean and Cham islands.
🚤 Swapping bikes for boats to head to Whale Island, a 900-hectare island of near-untouched nature, colorful flowers, exotic birds, shimmering schools of fish, and (of course!) whales and whale sharks.
