Wat Umong, also known as Suan Buddha Dhamma, is located on Suthep Road in Mueang District, Chiang Mai Province. It was built during the reign of King Mangrai around 1839 BE (Buddhist Era), which is over 700 years ago. Later, King Kuena constructed a tunnel here for Phra Maha Thera Chan to use as a meditation retreat. The walls inside the tunnel have multiple interconnected pathways, and there are also ancient mural paintings within the tunnel. Tourists often come to admire the beauty inside the tunnel and take stunning photos from this unique spot in the temple.
