Review from our clients
Hi khun Oldie, I just wanted to share a very warm and heartfelt thank you from the Avalos couple from December.
Today we started a tour that I dreaded. I heard of many hours in a car (8 hrs - 4hrs each way) to visit more temples and i was not at all excited. Our guide Mr. Taranon saved the day.
He picked us up at 6am sharp. Polite and friendly. I immediately said we will need his help to modify the trip to make it shorter since we had a very early flight the following morning. So, he had a grumpy guest at the start. And no interest in seeing another temple. I mentioned that we would spend 10min at each temple and if needed to eliminate them from the schedule to return earlier. He said he would work with us to adjust as needed to exceed our expectations. He did just that the whole day and even more.
You should be very proud of your guide. He represented your company and his family exceptionally.
Specifically, he did what you expect:
O on time
O Polite
O respecting the planned schedule and making we understood the original gameplan vs any changes we wanted to make
O great driver - there was dense fog for many hours and he did great. Safe and responsible driver, especially driving 8hrs in the same day. Tough
O superior knowledge about the sites we were to visit
Once we were on the road we started to talk. We talked a lot the whole day. He was incredible good conversationalist. We are from the USA and we offered information on our country if he was curious and he answered our questions as well about Thailand. We were both very curious.
For such a young man, we were very impressed that he held long discussions on:
O Thailand involvement in WWII
O Thailand involvement in Vietnam war
O Thailand relationship with China, Laos, Vietnam, Myanmar Malaysia and USA
O Thailand history in general and how the country was united and how it positioned itself in the world, specifically the strange borders
O Thailand economy, industries, agriculture
O Thailand tribes and cultures
O Thailand politics
O Thailand crime and prison systems
O Thailand rice industry and culture
O basics of insurance and cell phone programs in Thailand
O Thailand military service obligations and options
O Thailand immigration - illegal and legal
O golden triangle area history and current challenges
O Buddhism and religion way of life
O national parks
O wildlife and specifically elephants
O different culture of youth vs older generations
O music
O video games
O tennis
At his age, very impressive. At any age, very impressive.
His duty to performing his job at a high level obviously came from his family. He often told stories about his family as examples. He fondly and reverently talked about his mom, uncle and grandmother. They mean a lot to him. They should be proud to have raised a good young man.
Mr, Taranon’s willingness to talk, share and learn made the day. He brought to life Thailand. Not just taking pictures of temples and rivers. And we returned early as requested.
I asked what he was looking forward to on this day, he said to eat pizza at golden triangle area from his favorite place. We were in the rear seat and we could HEAR him smiling when he was talking about this pizza.
Not only did he get his pizza, he shared with us once we got off the boat ride. We sat, talked and shared. His smile was huge. My regret is that I did not get a picture of us at that time.
Please pass along to his company and I hope they pass along to him and his family. They should all be proud of this sharp young man.
