What I love you show our guest is the way how we live and our strong connection with nature.

I live in a self sufficient Karen hilltribe village. We grow our own food, we built our own houses, we make our traditional clothes from cotton, we keep our own animals and we take medicine from the forest. Nature provides us with all of this.

That's why have ceremonies to thank and apologise to the nature spirits for all of this ❤️🌱

We want to wish you all a very happy and healthy 2022! As you understand, we didn't have a lot of tours over the last two years because of Covid. We really miss our adventures, sharing our beautiful culture and making beautiful memories together in Northern Thailand.

Our tour-guide Mr. Jacky just came back from 8-day tour and was thrilled to show some beautiful views in Lampang, Chiang Rai and Mae Hong Son to Olivia, Mark and Doro.

We really hope this year is going to be a better year than the last year for all of you, full with adventures, travels and beautiful memories ✨❤

I want to give a HUGE thank you to everyone who donated to help the Karen people in Myanmar, who are running for their lives. Thousands of Karen civilians have fled to the Thailand border over the last weeks, without anything else than the clothes they are wearing. We used the donated money to buy food, mats, medicines, flashlights, flip flops, toiletries etc. We drove 8 hours long with 15 fully loaded cars and trucks to the border. I’m still in contact with people in Myanmar and plan to bring the next donations in a few weeks. I received a lot of sleeping mats, mosquito nets, sleeping bags, bottles of water, ponchos and plan to buy more food and medicines. If you would still like to donate, please send us a private message.

About Daro Tours

There is a lot happening in the jungles of Chiang Mai. We want to share it with you! Daro Tours® is a tour company and homestay that offers authentic and breathtaking tours in the Northern jungles of Thailand.

Daro Tours is founded by Daro Katu, and includes a team of local tour guides, who share a passion for nature and love sharing their stories about culture and the differences.

The owner of Daro Tours, Daro Katu, was born in a Karen village in Hpa-An, Myanmar. Due to the unstable situation in the Karen-state, he fled several times to Thailand with his family. In 2010 his grandfather sold all their land in Myanmar to settle down in Wiang Haeng, Thailand.

I'm born in a small rural, self-sufficient Karen village. At a young age, I discovered my passion for nature. As a kid, we learned hunting and making tools from bamboo and other natural materials in the village. After growing up in the mountains I decided to study agriculture at Mae Jo University in Chiang Mai.
