About Daro Tours

There is a lot happening in the jungles of Chiang Mai. We want to share it with you! Daro Tours® is a tour company and homestay that offers authentic and breathtaking tours in the Northern jungles of Thailand.

Daro Tours is founded by Daro Katu, and includes a team of local tour guides, who share a passion for nature and love sharing their stories about culture and the differences.

The owner of Daro Tours, Daro Katu, was born in a Karen village in Hpa-An, Myanmar. Due to the unstable situation in the Karen-state, he fled several times to Thailand with his family. In 2010 his grandfather sold all their land in Myanmar to settle down in Wiang Haeng, Thailand.

I'm born in a small rural, self-sufficient Karen village. At a young age, I discovered my passion for nature. As a kid, we learned hunting and making tools from bamboo and other natural materials in the village. After growing up in the mountains I decided to study agriculture at Mae Jo University in Chiang Mai.
