Pad Thai Recipe
Pad Thai is a popular Thai stir-fried noodle dish known for its delightful balance of sweet, sour, salty, and savory flavors. Here's how to make it:
Ingredients:
200g rice noodles
150g shrimp or chicken (optional)
2 eggs
1 cup bean sprouts
2 tbsp tamarind paste
1 tbsp fish sauce
1 tbsp sugar
1 tbsp lime juice
2 cloves garlic, minced
1/2 cup chopped peanuts
1/4 cup spring onions, chopped
1 tbsp vegetable oil
Red chili flakes (optional)
Lime wedges (for garnish)
Instructions:
Cook the rice noodles according to the package instructions, then set them aside.
Heat oil in a large wok over medium heat. Add the garlic and cook until fragrant.
If using shrimp or chicken, add them to the pan and cook until done.
Push the shrimp (or chicken) to one side of the pan and crack the eggs into the empty space. Scramble the eggs until cooked through.
Add the cooked noodles to the pan, followed by the tamarind paste, fish sauce, sugar, and lime juice. Stir everything together.
Toss in the bean sprouts, spring onions, and peanuts, and stir-fry for a few more minutes.
Serve the Pad Thai with lime wedges and extra chili flakes, if desired.
