We are pleased to invite you to a life-performance “The Observer is the Observed” by Pichet Klunchun at 31st Century Museum of Contemporary Spirit (Office) in Chiang Mai. This is a part of “Aesthetics Beyond Identity”, which is the 4th exhibition in Self Enquiry project by Kamin Lertchaiprasert in collaboration with ATTA Gallery.

The life-performance will be held on 【 Saturday, 5 August 2023 from 19:00 hrs on 】 at 31st Century Museum of Contemporary Spirit (office), 100/6 Moo 10 Soi Wat-Umong, Suthep Road, Amphoe Muang, Chiangmai 50200. This event is free of charge.

How to get around Chiang Mai Town.

Red Bus or Rod Daeng in Thai will take you wherever you want to go. Regular route starts at 30 baht per person.

Sometimes it is a bit annoying that you have to ask and bargain all the time about the price where you want to go or if it is overpriced. On the other hand, you can choose your own route, where you want to go and how much you want to pay.

So have fun and challenge yourself!

Santhitam :

Where to eat in the Santhitam area. Known for local and affordable prices, the menu ranges from local dishes like noodles and rice with curry to international dishes like pizza, steak as well as Japanese. Vegetarian and regular food. There is street food as well as fine dining.

We would like to recommend a few that we have tried.

Khoei Chiang Mai "เขยเชียงใหม่" and Heun Maun Jai เฮือนม๋วนใจ for Northern Thai food for dinner.

Croco Pizza, highly recommended for pizza lovers (pizza starts at 16.00). The crispy and thin pizza bread and fresh toppings.

For lunch Kaosoy Maesai ข้าวซอยแม้สาย, Kao Mann G*i Sriwichai ข้าวมันไก่ศรีวิชัย Rice with cooked chicken, we love satay with peanut sauce. Imm- Aim Vegetarian ครัวอิ่มเอม มังสวิรัติ etc.

And the most famous coffee is Akha Ama coffee

Day out in Chiang Mai : Huay Tung Tao Lake.

Huge lake with surrounding road. Take your time with a 3.5km walk or hire a bicycle. Enjoy freshly cooked food in one of the many cosy bamboo huts around the lake.

Interesting activities include observation tower, zip line, ATV and selfie with animal sculptures.

Entrance fee 50 Baht. Open 6.30-18.00 daily.

Located at the foot of Doi Suthep Mountain, behind Wat U-mong temple. Suitable for schools and families with young children for long and short walks. Wildlife watching such as deer, birds and banteng.

Where to eat; Maetaeng, Chiang Mai.

On the way back from "Kaeng Keut" white water rafting we stopped at the Wan Chune Cafe (วันชื่น) for lunch. They serve Thai and Western food, also cakes and drinks. Very nice surroundings and friendly service.

White Water Rafting at MaeTaeng, Chiang Mai, Thailand

White water rafting is one of the fun activities we would like to recommend.
You can book your trip directly with 8Adventure co. Ltd. to pick you up and drop you off at your hotel.

Or as we did was booked a group of five adults and 12 year old girl, we hired a car and drove to Majestic Rafting. For rafting is 250 baht per person.

About 1.30 hours drive from CM. City to Kaeng Keut rafting point. Then the agent took us to rafting point 5 kms.up steam north.The duration about 2 hours along muddy and steady river and some Rocky to kick your nerves. The rafting captain & tour guide was talkative and very well trained for his duties. Fun & safety guaranteed.

P.S. Prepare your second clothes to change as well as plastic bag for wet clothes.

Kasian Market is now open again! "Kasian" means "retired", so the sellers at this market are mainly retired people. You feel kind of warm feeling of grandma and grandpa here😊 There are fresh organic vegetables, food, clothes, herbs, plants, massage goods, etc. and the live music. Coconut Market is now open near Meechok Plaza. It's a Yunnan market. You can find fruits, vegetables, clothes, products/food from Myanmar and Yunnan. You can also enjoy fresh coffee, juice, food, etc. under the coconut trees. It's open every Tuesday, Saturday and Sunday (7:00-14:00). They'll open Ampawa market on the 6th April (8:00-18:00).
