Now for the food at the recent Ayutthaya World Heritage Festival 2024. Walking around the historical park is around 5 KM and this was wall to wall food stalls, and we did not get to every pathway.

From traditional food, local street vendors and food shops this had it all. It even had it's own "Noodle Street" where it was only noodles being highlighted.

There was so much great food to be had but your stomach is just not big enough.

This was 99% Thai people who patronised this event. WOW.

This is Leigh: Over the weekend, my husband and I went to Ayutthaya for the World Heritage Festival 2024 and to see good friends of Feast Thailand Khun Tikkie & Mike. To say this festival was big was an understatement as we still didn't see everything. I have done 2 posts: this one is about the festival. The second will be about the food.

This is an annual event and one to put on your agenda. It was a 3.5 hour trip there and back. Whilst Ayutthaya sees lots of tourists, most are day trippers from Bangkok or on their way to Chiang Mai. Having local knowledge about this region takes it to the next level. We love stuff off the tourist trails.

I would recommend going mid-week however some of the events happen over the weekend.
It had a nightly, 2 session light and sound show, Muay Fights, Beauty Pageants, Cultural Performances to name a few plus around every turn was a photo opportunity.

This is Leigh….. I am in Ayutthaya this weekend visiting our good friend of Feast Thailand and Master Foodie Tikkie Anderson for the weekend.

We went last night to the biggest festival I have ever been to in the world. It’s the Ayutthaya World Heritage Fair. We are going back tonight but for the lovers of food this is a MUST do event which happens annually. 5 kms of pathways with food stalls on each side. We are back tonight to take photos and VDO so stay tuned.

Amazing Thailand

If you are in Hua Hin today and tomorrow,20 & 21 December, this light and sound show is paying homage to 113 years of Hua Hin History at the Old Railway Station. Happens from 6:00 PM each night. Shows and activities highlight some of Hua Hin's landmarks featuring light displays and an exhibition to honour King Rama IX. Food and craft stalls will also be on-site.

One of our favourite places to eat in Hua Hin is Ciao Pizza Hua Hin. Yes. we do love a pizza and pasta from time to time and this is our "go to" place as the pizzas are super delicious, pastas are tasty and they have a big range of seafood dishes. So the team at Feast are always happy.

However to compliment their menu they have introduced a short menu of Thai dishes with an Italian twist. This is a casual dining restaurant however with great service but overall, we have never had a poor dish here. The warning is the portion sizes are quite big, but thats a good thing.....right?

Click into the photos to see the dish names. The standout dish was the 4 Cheese Gnocchi with Spinach that was made at our table. We added some black pepper: Amazing.

The 2 Thai dishes served with pasta were extremely good. We couldn't decide which was better as they both were different in flavour and texture.

BTW: The sweet menu is small but you MUST try the Lemon Cheesecake.

Phad Kee Mao is a very popular dish in Thailand due its bold flavours from Holy Basil: Graphow, finger root, garlic and chillis to name a couple of the ingredients. It's often called drunken noodles as "Mao" means drunk.

Yesterday we tried Phad Kee Mao Seafood with Squid Ink Spaghetti at Ciao Pizza Hua Hin. Yes, you heard it right. Their food is amazing and they have just launched a Thai Style menu to compliment their pizza and pasta menu.

OMG: It was a true taste sensation. Packed with seafood it was full flavoured with a good hit of chili and the silky spaghetti was cooked to perfection.

We love the food in Hua Hin and we are eating out all the time looking for great dishes that we think travelers would love to experience. Yesterday, our GM Leigh, was dining solo for lunch and hence only one dish and it's a cracker!

Laap Bplaa Duk Fuu : This is a grilled catfish that has been shredded and flash fried to create a "fuu". It's crispy and crunchy and then lightly tossed in a laap dressing. This Issan restaurant knows how to do an amazing dressing with lots of ground toasted sticky rice. We know where to find the best food.

Across the world, many countries have dishes that revolve around raw beef. In Thailand, from the North East, there is a dish called Goy Nuea Dip.

This is raw beef that is tossed through a laap dressing served with fresh garlic cloves and sticky rice. It is not for the faint hearted but if you like to push the boundaries, this is a dish for you to try.
