Why do we care?
Perhaps the question caught your attentions for its oxymoron value? Yes, many people DON’T care about the environment because its deterioration doesn’t really affect them. By the time they get to the beach, the trash has been buried, burned or left to rot along a shoreline of dejectedly lapping waves....and white-clad waiters stumble, shoeless, with crisp clean dishcloths over an arm and a menu in hand to offer beachgoers and guests some delicious fare to match a somewhat drab and slightly littered tropical ocean view they will no doubt photoshop to remove the offending barnacled flipflops, plastic bottles and discarded beer bottles from.
At Khanom Dee Eco Tourism we aim to educate all who live here and all who come here to pick up one piece of trash and dispose of it in the designated ‘Big Fish’ Recycle Bins we have placed on the beaches.
We look forward to hearing good and valid ideas on how to keep the beaches clean. This is not a once-off beach clean-up but rather an education in sustainability and ultimately winning this war against trash that is polluting our oceans and killing our world.
