Cuttlefish Critters

What an exciting moment when you get to see a cuttlefish - one of the most intelligent creatures in the ocean! If you can hover like a cuttlefish, you've got buoyancy skills nailed. Not only are these Cephalopoda amazing at moving through the water gracefully and effortlessly, they astound with their colour- and pattern-changing ability. Wizards of disguise thanks to their camo skills, these marine animals quickly adapt to their background or warn off predators using pigment sacs called chromatophores, as well as light reflective and scattering abilities. Turtle Power Breakfast

If you're happy and you know it, clap your flippers! Our instructor Karli found this guy filling his belly in our beautiful marine park today. Known as 'hawksbill' for their narrow and pointed beak, which is pretty useful for digging out yummy treats, like sponges, anemones and jellyfish, their latin name is eretmochelys imbricata and they are vital for the heath of coral reefs... Who wants to come hang out with these guys? (Answer: you do).

Our Story

Located on Koh Phi Phi of the west coast of Thailand, P.P. Aquanauts Scuba was one of the first purpose-built dive centers to be established on Phi Phi Island with our roots going back to 1989. We strive to have a non-commercial atmosphere and this comes from us putting quality over quantity with all of our training programs we limit the number of divers per instructor to just 2 to ensure each student get to proper attention and care during their training, this maximizes both fun and safety.

Both personal attention and professional care are the corner-stones of Aquanauts Scuba's in training our customers to be competent and confident and safe scuba divers for their lives to come.
