แต่ยังไงปีนี้ก็มีการตกแต่งประดับไฟมากกว่าทุกปี คลิปนี้ถ่ายจากทิมพู เมืองหลวงที่คึกคักสุดในประเทศละ คิดว่าปีหน้าน่าจะคึกคักมากขึ้นเรื่อยๆ

Perched on a hill, Khamsum Yulley Namgyel Chorten in Punakha is a stunning stupa that offers breathtaking views of the Punakha valley. What is the best way to travel to Bhutan? There are direct connecting flights from Bangladesh (Dhaka), India (Delhi, Kolkata, Guwahati, Bagdogra), Nepal (Kathmandu), Singapore (Changi) and Thailand (Bangkok). Visitors can also enter via land from Phuentsholing. Indian guests can enter Bhutan via other land entry points (Gelephu, Samdrup Jongkhar and Samtse).

ทำไมมีนักบินไม่กี่คนในโลกนี้ที่สามารถบังคับเครื่องลงที่สนามบินแห่งนี้ได้และมีเพียงสายการบิน Drukair (Royal Bhutan Airlines) และ Bhutan Airlines ที่ได้รับอนุญาตให้มาลง??

นับกันจริงๆ 20 กว่าคนเองครับที่สามารถนำเครื่องลงที่สนามบินพาโร สนามบินที่ยากและท้าทายที่สุดแห่งหนึ่งของโลก ประมาณ 10 กว่าคนเป็นนักบินต่างชาติที่ไม่ใช่ชาวภูฏานครับและมีกัปตันหญิงชาวภูฏาน Ugyen Dema ด้วย เธอบินกับสายการบิน Drukair มาตั้งแต่ปี ค.ศ 2006

ความยากอยู่ที่ภูมิประเทศของภูฏานล้อมรอบไปด้วยเขาสูง
บางยอดสูงเกือบ 20,000 ฟุต ตัวสนามบินเองสูงกว่าระดับน้ำทะเลถึง 7 พันกว่าฟุต อากาศที่บาง ภูมิประเทศที่อันตราย การบินจึงมีข้อจำกัด ไม่สามารถสร้างอุปกรณ์นำร่องการลงจอดด้วยสัญญาณวิทยุ (ILS) ไม่มีเรดาร์ช่วยระบุตำแหน่งได้ สิ่งที่นักบินทำคือการใช้ประสบการณ์จดจำลักษณะภูมิประเทศ! และการบินเข้าสู่สนามบินโดยการใช้พิกัดดาวเทียม (RNP AR)โดยต้องมีการกำหนดความสูงและความเร็วของแต่ละจุดอย่างชัดเจนเพื่อความปลอดภัย

นั่นหมายถึงว่าถ้าวันไหนอากาศไม่ดีมีหมอกลงจัดหรือลมพัดแรง เที่ยวบินอาจจะต้องถูกยกเลิกหรือเลื่อนออกไป เพราะการบินเข้าร่องเขา ควรมองเห็นภูมิประเทศเพื่อความปลอดภัย และตำแหน่งที่ตั้งของรันเวย์หรือทางวิ่ง(ที่มีความยาวเพียง 7,431ฟุต) จะถูกบังจากเนินเขา เมื่อบินผ่านหรืออ้อมเขาลูกนั้นแล้วจึงจะเห็นรันเวย์อยู่ทางด้านขวามือเฉียงไปประมาณ 45 องศา(รันเวย์หรือทางวิ่ง 15) พวกเขาจะต้องเลี้ยวเอียงปีกลง มีเวลาในการมองเห็นรันเวย์ก่อนล้อแตะพื้นในระยะเวลาสั้นมากครับถ้าเทียบกับสนามบินโดยทั่วไปที่จะมองเห็นรันเวย์แต่ไกล ด้วยเหตุนี้จึงอนุญาตให้ทำการบินได้ในวันที่ทัศนวิสัยหรืออากาศดีและเป็นเวลากลางวันเท่านั้น

ทั้งหมดเป็นเพียงส่วนหนึ่งของความท้าทายที่ทำให้สนามบินแห่งนี้มีเอกลักษณ์และเป็นที่พูดถึงความท้าทายและความยาก ยังมีอะไรอีกบ้าง พร้อม Simulated ภาพที่จะทำให้ท่านรู้สึกเหมือนหนึ่งว่าไปบินสนามบินแห่งนี้จริงๆโดย บอกเลยกัปตันหมีทดลองบินโดยใช้ MSF2020 แล้วเหงื่อออกมือเลยครับ 😅

Climate change is silently unfolding in the Himalayan mountains and threatening the lives of the people as they know it. This year, 30 select runners will compete in the Snowman Race, one of the world’s toughest and high-altitude marathons following the trails of the famous Snowman trek to draw the world’s attention to .

Will they perceive the impacts? Will they be able to understand the magnitude of what is at stake?

The ultimate tryst of man and nature, the first International Snowman Race, considered the world’s toughest race, mimics the trail of the treacherous Snowman Trek, the purview of the elite athlete - as fewer have completed this grueling course than summited Mount Everest! 30 ultra-marathon athletes (including seven Bhutanese) will battle it out over 222 kilometers (138 miles) of wild, challenging terrain at an oxygen draining 5470m (17,946 feet).
The goal? Not a medal or trophy but a fervent and bold message for climate action and preservation of mountain ecosystems through a hitherto unseen level of daredevilry and exhilaration.

Bhutan is calling 😍

Bhutan is a land where tradition meets modernity. It is a living museum where ancient cultural heritage is a big part of the county and its citizens’ identity and pride. It’s quite like the phenomenon of tidal locking. The moon takes the same time to rotate around its own axis as it does to revolve around earth, and that is why we always see the same side of the moon. They’re tidally locked. Bhutan’s past, present and future keep going in circles, each fascinated by the other, unable to part.
