Baan Kruja Anti Human Trafficking and Child Abuse Center in Pattaya asks public for help

The Baan Kruja Anti Human Trafficking and Child Abuse Center in the Pattaya area needs help due to the Covid – 19 pandemic and has put out a public appeal for assistance.

Mr. Palisorn Noja, the director of the Anti Human Trafficking and Child Abuse Center in the Chonburi area (Baan Kruja), spoke with local Thai media yesterday, January 17th, 2021.

“Due to the Covid -19 situation, we have followed the government measurements for closing the foundation to prevent the potential spread of the virus during a current second round of infections in Thailand.”

Naklau fish market or Lan pho market.

It’s located north of Pattaya, in the Na Klua district on the coast. It’s a short drive away from the hotel, and the area is good for a family day trip, as it provides an insight into the local Thai residential areas of the eastern seaboard, as the fishing town of Naklua contains no shopping malls, bars or upscale restaurants that other areas are famed for. Tourists come to Naklua, albeit in smaller numbers, for a real Thai experience.

The Sanctuary of Truth
(Thai: ปราสาทสัจธรรม) is an unfinished museum in Pattaya designed by Thai businessman Lek Viriyaphan. The museum structure is a hybrid of a temple and a castle that is themed on the Ayutthaya Kingdom and of Buddhist and Hindu beliefs. The building is notably constructed entirely out of wood, specifically Mai Deang, Mai Takien, Mai Panchaat, and Teak. It contains only wood-carved idols and sculptures. Construction first began in 1981 and is still in construction, though visitors are permitted inside with hard hats. Located on 13 hectares of land, the temple houses an internal space of 2,115 m2, with the tallest spire reaching to 105 m.

The building has been under construction since 1981, and may not be finally completed until 2025 at the earliest. Though under construction, tourists are able to visit the sanctuary.

The name Pattaya evolved from the march of Phraya Tak (later King Taksin) and his army from Ayutthaya to Chanthaburi, which took place before the fall of the former capital to Burmese invaders in 1767. When his army arrived in the vicinity of what is now Pattaya, Phraya Tak encountered the troops of a local leader named Nai Klom, who tried to intercept him. When the two met face to face, Nai Klom was impressed by Phraya Tak's dignified manner and his army's strict discipline. He surrendered without a fight and joined his forces. The place the armies confronted each other was thereafter known as "Thap Phraya", which means the "army of the Phraya". This later became Pattaya, the name of the wind blowing from the south-west to the north-east at the beginning of the rainy season.

Pattaya was a fishing village until the 1960s. Tourism began during the Vietnam War, when American servicemen began arriving on R&R (rest and relaxation). One large group who arrived from a base in Korat on 29 June 1959 and rented houses from Phraya Sunthorn at the south end of the beach, on what is now known as the "Strip", are credited with recommending Pattaya, whose fame spread by word of mouth.
