There are many great coffee shops in Rawai/ Naiharn operated by some great people, providing immense variety of style, coffee flavor, and food options and having a new super size starbucks just adds to the options.

Some of the individual spots you might like is . A very unique & funky coffee shop/ restaurant serving up great breakfasts, lunches, meals and coffee with what I would consider the friendliest staff in the area.
