Design Inspiration
Akatsuki is a masterpiece creation of the architect Riccardo Tossani.
With a career that has spanned several continents in almost three decades, Tossani's work is founded on the renaissance notion of design as a creative and intellectual exercise that encompasses a broad architectural spectrum and addresses issues of Multi-culturalism, Social evolution and Environmental sustainability.
Inspired by a fusion of Modern Thai and Japanese Aesthetics, Tossani has elegantly combined these two styles to create a sophisticated and relaxing ambiance that blends perfectly into the tropical environment.
This concept is unique to Akatsuki, encompassing the beautiful natural surroundings that envelop the residence. These breathtaking backdrops, combined with the Cassina interior, reflect an idea of comfort and quality, blurring the line between external nature and interior opulence.
The stylized structure allows for incredible amounts of space and light creating natural ventilation and shade for optimum guest comfort with minimal use of artificial energy.
The accents of warm hues of recycled timber, accentuate these open spaces through the beams in the vaulted ceilings and the vertical louver recycled wood screens. Derived from Japanese architecture, the chic louver screens are cooling and provide privacy whilst adding stylish opportunities for ventilation with no compromise on the view.
