Seven Diamonds of the Fan Mountains
In the west of Tajikistan, near the city of Penjikent, there is a beautiful natural complex of seven lakes, which amazes everyone with the rich and constantly changing color of the water. It is also known as Haftkul, which means "Seven Lakes" in Tajik. Sometimes there is a toponym Marguzor lakes, which comes from the name of the largest lake. Each lake has its own name: the lowest and the first, from which acquaintance usually begins, Nezhigon, then Soyа, Gushor, Nofin, Khurdak, the largest Marguzor and the last Hazorchashma.

There is an ancient place in the southern part of Tajikistan, which at one time received an unusual poetic name - Childukhtaron. Translated, this word means “Valley of the forty girls". There is one legend that explains the meaning of these words.

According to ancient history, the 40 stone blocks presented, which are located one after the other, are 40 pretty girls who lived a carefree life. But when the cruel invaders came with the intention of making concubines out of the beauties, the girls began to pray to Allah for salvation.

The only salvation they saw was the transformation into silent stone blocks. It was from this moment that the valley began to be considered an interesting attraction of Tajikistan.

The Pamir is located on the territory of Tajikistan, China, Afghanistan and Pakistan and at the same time is closely connected with other highest mountain systems of the world - the Tien Shan, Karakorum, Hindu Kush. Himalayas. The Pamir mountains are distinguished by their severity and high altitude. There are many glaciers, lakes and rivers here.

The Fan Mountains (colloquially Fans) are located in the south-west of the Pamir-Alai in the area of the Hissar and Zeravshan ranges, which translates respectively as “Fortress” and “Giver of gold” - there are still gold mines in this area.

The Fan Mountains are famous for their picturesque lakes, including the Alaudin lakes in the Chapdara River valley, Kulikalon, Allo and Iskanderkul.

Iskanderkul (taj. Iskandarkul) is a mountain lake in Tajikistan on the northern slopes of the Hissar range in the Fan Mountains

Iskanderkul Lake is one of the visit cards of Tajikistan. Visiting Tajikistan, but not visiting Lake Iskanderkul, is like visiting Paris for the first time, but not climbing the Eiffel Tower. Moreover, it is not so difficult to get to this popular attraction - it is only 130 km from Dushanbe to Iskanderkul Lake.
