The walk into the rocky Jizew Valley - ideal place for acclimatization.

The first part of the trek starts in Pasor, a small village in the northern Bartang valley. The total distance of 68 km can be divided into 3 -4 day trek, depending on your fitness level. On the trek you will follow the Khafrazdara River upstream through its valley. Landscape and underground change from a narrow valley and gravel path, over the highland grass areas to rocky tracks and hilly snow covered plains. Several small streams, fed by melting snow, provide you with clean and fresh water. Although it is one of the most remote areas in the Pamirs, it is partly inhabited by shepherds, watching over their cattle. Therefore, the path is easy to follow most of the time. 34 km to the Grum Grizhmaylo Glacier view point.

The last part of the trek started in Savnob village in the Ruj valley. One of the most beautiful valley with snow covered summits and glaciers in Central Pamirs. The landscapes and the views are breathtaking.

The Bartang River supports a diverse range of plant and animal species. Along its banks, you can find various species of trees, shrubs, and grasses, which provide shelter and food for the wildlife that inhabits the region. The river is home to a variety of fish species, including the endangered Siberian sturgeon and the Taimen, a large predatory fish. The surrounding landscapes also provide habitat for mammals such as the snow leopard, Marco Polo sheep, and the rare Iriomote wild cat.

The most popular trekking trail is the Bartang Valley Trek, which takes around 12-14 days to complete. The trail covers a distance of approximately 100 km and reaches an altitude of 4,700 meters at its highest point.
