Pamir Highway!

Did you know The Pamir Highway, also known as the M41, is a legendary road stretching through the rugged mountains of Tajikistan, Kyrgyzstan, and Afghanistan. It is one of the world’s highest-altitude roads, reaching over 4,600 meters (15,000 feet) at its highest point, the Ak-Baital Pass. The highway traverses the Pamir Mountains, often called the “Roof of the World,” offering breathtaking landscapes of snow-capped peaks, deep valleys, high-altitude plateaus, and turquoise lakes.

Originally part of the ancient Silk Road, the Pamir Highway has been a vital trade and travel route for centuries. Khorog. The tourism information centre will provide you with the necessary information about this trekking route. They will give you a driver or some advice about how to rent a car from Khorogto Bachor. Bachor is the starting point for trekking to Sarez. Yashilkul, Zaroshkul, Chapdara and Bulunkul.
You can easily reach all of these lakes within 7-8days.

Bachor Mountain Trekking
Bacher is the beginning of trekking to Zaroshkul Sarez, Yashilkul and Chapdara Lakes through the most beautiful valleys. The valleys from Bachor to Yashilkul and Zaroshkul are very beautiful and you can enjoy all the beauties of the Pamirs. If you want to go to Yashilkul Zareshkuland other lakes you can hire a car from Kherog, and drive to Bachor. There you will stay at a very nice homestay and enjoy the beautiful nature.
Only in this village you have the opportunity of horse riding in the mountains. There are about 5-10 horses in the Village and you can hire them for 8-10 day trip up to Yashilkul or Zaroshkul and come back to the village. It is possible to continue your travel to Bartang through the pass. You can also engage them to Bulunkul If you want to continue your travel with a carto Munghao.

Biodiversity and wildlife of Bachor and all the area!
Bacher's wildlife and biodiversity is very unique since it is situated between the Eastern and Western Pamirs and it is a very good habitat for ibex, snow leopard and brown bears. The number of these endangered species is raising in the last years, and this area (four big valleys adjoined to Bachor village) is one of the best habitat for them in all Pamirs.
