PECTA is a membership based association which represents the Pamirs as a destination in national, regional and international markets.

The Pamir Eco-Cultural Tourism Association (PECTA) was founded in 2008 by a group of private sector tourism businesses with the purpose of developing the tourism sector in the Pamirs through collaborative work. Association members are grouped into categories based on services they provide and include Tour Operators, Direct Tourism Service Providers, Guest Houses, Hotels, Restaurants, Retail Store

and Home Stays. By marketing the services of these members, offering supporting through training and capacity building and representing the destination as a whole, PECTA plays the role of a destination management organization (DMO).

In cooperation with MSDSP (Mountain Societies Development Support Program) project of Aga-Khan Foundation, under the initiative of project Local Impact, PECTA has invited an international expert from Uzbekistan Michael Shamshidov for conducting online payment and booking system for home stays and guest houses in the region. The training has been conducted from 7th to 9th April 2022 in Ismaili Center and Jamatkhana of Khorog.

PECTA has successfully conducted the FAM trip for members in Samarkand (Uzbekistan), Penjikent, Dushanbe and Muminabad areas. The aim of the trip was to find potential partners for developing the cooperation among the tour operators, development of cross border and domestic tourism and promoting the touristic potential and opportunities of our beautiful Tajikistan.
Special thanks to our partners for the contribution and cooperation especially to Michael Shamshidov and Ravshan Turakulov from Samarkand Tourism Forum for their warm hospitality and great cooperation. We hope for a very productive tourism development between our countries.

In cooperation with Samarkand Tourism Forum, PECTA and it's members were organizing info session and presentations of the tourism opportunities of the Pamir Mountains of Tajikistan in the Samarkand Institute of Foreign Languages with involving local Tour Operators, service providers and other tourism stakeholders. After the presentations PECTA team has visited main historical and archeological sites in Samarkand.
Thanks a lot for our partners from Samarkand Tourism Forum for their hospitality and cooperation. We hope for productive cooperation for development of tourism in our countries.

PECTA members and Team have arrived in Samarkand, Uzbekistan crossing the border in historical city of Panjakent. The aim of the trip is to develop cross border tourism, capacity building of PECTA members and identifying the touristic potential of Uzbekistan, meeting local tourism stakeholders and representatives of Samarkand Tourism Forum. Tomorrow jointly with Samarkand Tourism Forum, PECTA will held a meeting and open discussion among Tajik and Uzbek tour operators, guides, home stay owners, representatives from handicrafts and other tourism stakeholders. If you want to meet us to discuss your future visit to Tajikistand and the Pamir mountains we will be at Samarkand State Institute of Foreign Languages, 93 Bustonsaroy str, Samarkand, Uzbekistan, on 8th November from 11:00 to 13:00. We will be happy to meet you!!

With the support of partners, PECTA has successfully conducted the second set of trekking trainings for mountaineering guides, for raising their capacity as professional trekking guides. The training was conducted in Roshtqala district including visiting three lakes, Turumtaykul, Durumkul and Oykul lakes as well as visiting historical sites in the district. During the training the guides were taught the bases of mountaineering, trekking, intercultural communication, using GPS navigation and map usage. Despite the training, PECTA staff has organized info sessions and open discussions with tourism stakeholders of Roshtqala district mainly Javshangoz, Rubot, Durum and Chandin villages. Thanks a lot for the partners for this cooperation.

With the support of partners, PECTA has successfully conducted trekking training for mountaineering guides, for raising their capacity as professional trekking guides. The route for the training was selected from Bachor (Shugnan) to Bardara (Rushan), as well as Jizev valley. During the training the guides were taught the bases of mountaineering, trekking, intercultural communication, using GPS navigation and map usage. Thanks a lot for the partners for this cooperation.

The Pamirs Eco-Cultural Tourism Association has been participating in the exhibition dedicated to the 30th Anniversary of Tajikistan's Independence day. Within the 30 years of Independence, PECTA has been closely working with governmental and non governmental organizations, international NGO's and partners, indivudual tourists and local tourism stakeholders for developing one of the most important spheres of economical development of the country, tourism. PECTA hardly worked for developing community based tourism, linking villages to villages and building the capacity of all tourism related businesses for providing high quality services and prompt promotion of the touristic opportunities in our country. PECTA aims to continue its hard work and will use all its resources for converting Tajikistan into one of the best tourism destinations. Happy Tajikistan's Independence day!!!

With the support of MSDSP (Mountain Societies Development Support Program), project Local Impact and USAID, PECTA has completed a 3 days training for home stay and guest houses owners in Khorog. The training covered the topics of; Tax Obligation, Legislation (layers support), proposal development and energy efficiency in the home stays. The training focus was to raise the capacity of the home stays and guest house owners and prepare them for applying for grants such as the World Bank and others.
