🌿 Reminiscing on the enchanting Zhar Distillation Festival in Nabeul! 🎉

From April 19th to 21st, 2024, we embarked on a captivating journey celebrating the timeless tradition of Orange Blossom Water (Zhar) in the heart of Nabeul.

Our experience began with the age-old ritual of gathering orange blossoms amidst the lush orchards, followed by witnessing the modern distillation process at the Société Mutuelle de Services Agricoles.

The Festival de l'Eau de Fleur d'Oranger at Dar Nabeul, orchestrated by ASVN - Association pour la Sauvegarde de la Ville de Nabeul and its esteemed partners, treated us to a delightful showcase of exhibitions, hands-on workshops, and tantalizing tastings featuring regional delicacies infused with the essence of orange blossoms.

It was a true celebration of Nabeul's rich heritage and culinary delights!✨

We are excited to share our recent participation at ITB Berlin as a representative of the Interprofessional Federation of Tunisian Tourism, where we had the privilege of presenting a presentation on Sustainable Accommodations in Tunisia. 🌍✨

During our presentation, we showcased a diverse range of accommodations across Tunisia that are leading the way in sustainable tourism, from eco-lodges nestled in lush landscapes to boutique hotels committed to reducing their environmental footprint.

Arriving in Tamezret, a hidden gem near Matmata, the Fravely Family discovered a unique spot in the ancient Berber village.
A house proudly marked as the "Berber Museum" welcomed them warmly.

As they explored, tales of Berber history unfolded, revealing the daily lives within these historic walls. The smart tunnel system, protecting against threats, and a hidden passageway stretching a kilometer into the countryside left them in awe.
Venturing into rooms carved into the mountain, they found a treasure trove of Berber artifacts.

This made them realize that the museum is a portal to the Berber Culture, adding a layer of fascination to their unforgettable journey through Tunisia.

Our journey into Matmata with the Fravelys unfolded like a captivating story.
What initially appeared to them as an ordinary house revealed itself as a troglodyte haven, boasting cool temperatures and interconnected caves.
They were welcomed by locals, there, and they were treated to tea, accompanied by a delightful spread of bread, olive oil, and honey, offering a taste of authentic Tunisian hospitality.

These troglodyte caves, not only a local hallmark but also their feature in Star Wars, added an extra layer of excitement to their discovery adventure. 🌟🏡🚗

Getting on the Star Wars trail in Tunisia was described by the Fravely family like stepping into a galaxy far away!
The journey began in Ajim, where a weathered house displayed a Stormtrooper.
Continuing, we introduced them to the Mosquée Imghar Amghar, which is a small beachside mosque featuring Obi-Wan Kenobi's humble abode on its outer wall – an impressive link to the iconic character.
Heading north, we reached the Sidi Jemour Mosque, the former backdrop for Mos Eisley in Star Wars.
These cinematic landscapes not only hold rich history but also captivated them, drawing them into the astonishing world of Star Wars right here in the heart of Tunisia. 🚀🌌✨

The adventure took a delicious turn as we all sat down at the charming Dar Dhiafa guesthouse and restaurant. 🍽️✨
The air was filled with the enticing smell of couscous, a true Tunisian delight served with fresh vegetables.

But that’s not all! The family savored the famous Tunisian appetizer – Brick – a thin, fried dumpling bursting with egg, tuna, or seafood.
This savory treat is a must-try, found at every corner of Tunisia.🍲🏡🌍

🌈✨ We went on to explore the lively streets of Erriadh on Djerba, where the family unveiled the magic of the Djerba Hood Street Art.

It was beautiful white houses transformed into an open-air gallery, adorned with colorful tales from artists worldwide.

As they wandered, they discovered surprises at every corner and even higher up in the houses.
They considered this place , a vibrant escapade through Djerba Hood's captivating street art narrative. 🎨🏠🌍

🌟 Stepping into the wonder of Fadhloun Mosque!

It was a bright white exterior shining in the sun all around, welcoming us to a world of captivating stories.
Exploring the mosque’s rooms, The Fravely family got to discover a fascinating piece of history – a camel-powered mill that once turned out flour for the joy of making bread, a tradition celebrated within these ancient walls.
But the adventure didn't stop there!
We also shared with them, tales from the nearby cemetery, where each gravestone held stories of lives well-lived.

In short, they loved Tunisia's rich past being unfolded before them, a mixture of cultural treasures and timeless traditions. 🕌📜✨
