The Star Wars movie’ was shot in several places in Tunisia because of its beautiful escapes and amazing natural areas like the one in Touzer and nafta.
Not to forget the troglodyte houses of matmata, they’re absolutely unique ❤️

רבי יוסף המערבי one of the תלמידים של האר״י הקדוש is buried in Tunisia in city called ELHAMMA. So he was נפטר about 500 years ago,
And since then Jews from all over Tunisia visit his קבר every year in the middle of חנוכה and make a big הילולא ❤️

SIDI BOU SAÏD, thé blue and white village, it’s known as 1 of the most beautiful villages in the Arab countries. When you walk there you’ll feel like you’re in San Torino Greece just with Tunisian flavor and atmosphere, which is what makes it even more special and gorgeous.
Historically it’s 800 years old.

The Jewish community of djerba is known as 1 of the oldest in the world, and 1 of the special מנהגים (customs) is that the Cheff rabbi (רבי חיים ביתאן שליט״א)blows the שופר before Shabbat twice, 1st one 10 minutes before to announce everyone to close their shops and 2nd one just before Shabbat to announce that Shabbat entering.
And this costume is mentioned in the Talmud that they used to do the same thing in Jerusalem back then. Come and see it yourself 😍😍

Like in every Jewish town there’s a special atmosphere, in the Jewish town of djerba that’s even more original and exiting
Everyone prepare his חלות (bread), then take it to the community oven to bake it and then come to pick it up before Shabbat when it’s ready.
Not to forget the חמין של שבת we don’t cook it at home like everyone in the world does, we do it like in the olden days and we put our חמין in the community oven before שבת and on Shabbat lunch we pick it
It’s crazy experience ❤️

Tunisian kitchen has a lot to offer,😇 it’s known with its delicious and amazing food.❤️
We can start by the most famous food and it’s called BRIK, it’s made of flower filled up with potatoes and harissa (Tunisian spice) some vegetables and of course an egg in the end and finally deep it the oil to fry😉 it’s delicious 🤤
We also have a sweet BRIK and it’s filled up with grounded almonds then fried and then deep it in the honey 🍯 I can’t describe it enough 😅
You must come and try it your self 😉

If we’re talking about djerba, we’re talking about Authentic wedding with special MINHAGIM (customs),
Like making the שבע ברכות (special blessings for wedding) in the house of the חתן (groom)’s parents.
Also we do a special party before the wedding it’s called the night of تجميل (beautifying)
And still more… 😉

Tunisia is very known for its Berber history, Culture and (ksour) granaries. 🛕🏛️
And in the city called Tataouin you will find a lot of them with a beautiful architecture and they are a UNESCO sites like Ksar OULED SOULTAN , ksar OULED DABBAB and hundreds more🏛️

The night before the day of the #בריתמילה (circumcision) we call it the night of the (top book of KABALA), and we make a small party. so before the father of the son reads it, we sing very old traditional פיוטים and in the morning we eat breakfast and also ספינג׳ (Donuts) delicious 😋. And again later we make big סעודה😍.
In our Jewish community parties have a different taste 🥰

In the island of djerba, #חג סוכות (Tabernacles holiday)
we make it from the palm leaves and we add all types of fresh smelling herbs and beautiful fruits, absolutely גן עדן❤️. Add to that the amazing atmosphere before and on the CHAG 😍🥰 ושמחת בחגך אחי!!

Like every year before #יוםכיפור2022 (Jewish holiest day in the year) we do #כפרות (Atonement for wrongdoings)
We also light candles for every member in the family and we hang it inside the synagogue and We wear white JABBA (white Tunisian dress)
