Piri Resi Map on History Channel
Piri Reis The Admiral of Ottoman Navy and Cartographer draws a map in 1513 on Gazelle skin. Part of the Map found while reorganizing Topkapi Palace in 1929! What he shows in his map is still a mystery of scientists; hear yourself and want to find out more just Google him you will also find series of expert on Cartography talking about this map comparing with NASA maps and accuracy. 2013 was declared Year of Piri Reis by UNESCO too.

Topkapı Palace was constructed between 1460 and 1478 by Sultan Mehmed the Conqueror and served the Ottoman Sultans until mid 19th century.

Istiklal Avenue or Istiklal Street is one of the most famous avenues in Istanbul, Turkey, visited by nearly 3 million people in a single day over the course of weekends which houses boutiques, music stores, bookstores, art galleries, cinemas, theatres, libraries, cafés, pubs, night clubs with live music, historical patisseries, chocolateries and restaurants. On the exterior, Istiklal Street showcases the historic character of the city. The avenue is lined with many buildings from the 19th and 20th centuries, reflecting the late Ottoman period. In spite of the fact that wine has been produced for thousands of years on these lands of ours and we have even very special wines just like Kalecik Karasi or Okuzgozu Bogazkere, Raki comes to mind when it is told about alcohol within recent 150 years.
But, please, never get confused about raki among other alcohols in order to compensate thirstiness. Raki is usually drunken slowly around a table which is equipped with appetizers (meze). Indeed, what important is the conversation with people who surround the table. The thirstiness of soul is compensated on the raki table.
The table of raki is arranged at home or in the Meyhane (raki pub). The musicians who walk around the service tables to perform their music complete those raki tables in the traditional Meyhane's. The aim of those musicians who performs the songs as kindly request from the people and also the songs from their hearths without being trained academically, is not to earn money; Raki is offered them.
By the way, Lateradio producer, Ozge Ersu who is also a tour guide and the musicians at Gazi Baba Meyhane, being “tuned-up” with the Raki which is offered them while they accompany to the people around tables for all the night… Kind regards you all… Serefe!.. Cheers!..
